The reason why I pay for digital media [assuming the option exists] is because I want to give market incentives to the producers to produce more of what it is that I watch.
Sometimes it can be hard - a friend of mine doesn't like what Google is doing, censorship-wise, but still has a Chromebook.
As for as paying for digital media goes, I paid for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight twice, and I still ended up having to watch a bootlegged copy online.
I normally pay for streams, but I have had so many connection issues, that I won't feel guilty stealing UFC 246 tonight. It's either that, or get UFC to give me a refund, which I could then use to buy the fight.
This is more of a customer service issue than anything else. I am tolerant about mistakes, but I've had too many issues from paying for fights that I feel that I'm owed a few downloads.
As technology continues to improve, I'm going to have fewer times where I feel I'm owed one, but tonight I am.
