In my line of work we are discouraged from growing beards. I work in sales and the feeling is people don't like beards or at least on average people don't like them or think they look smart and respectful. Apparently people make up their mind about you within five seconds of seeing you and having a beard is viewed as an unpleasant feature on average.

I'm growing a beard and people already look at me like they are afraid of me, it's an intimidating look, especially if you are bald too

True, when I was in sales I had to be clean shaven. Just another reason to be an entrepreneur.

I don't get dudes who can grow a beard but code not to. Everytime I mention that I might shave, whatever girl I'm with objects as hard as they can (any girl period, actually. "Dating" or not)

It's like I'm telling them I'm thinking about cutting off my dick or something, or that I'm thinking about "retiring" and gonna move to skid row. They respond to it like it's a threat. 🤷🏽‍♂️
