Ok - and direct election of senators, lol. Oh yeah, and women's right to vote. And the income tax! We are finally on the same page.
do you want to bring back slavery too
You do realize that the filibuster was created by a Senate rule change and nothing more
The direct election of Senators is the 17th amendment to The Constitution
No comparison to the filibuster
how about we just make Senators who want to filibuster actually have to filibuster
There was recently a vote in the Senate
The vote tally was 54-35
The side with 35 won
The Senate is allegedly evenly divided yet the Dems actually represent ~ 45 million more voters....and that's when the vote is 50-50.
How few voters were represented by the 35 who "won" the vote ?
AT THE VERY LEAST these Senators should actually have to filibuster rather than just opposing a vote and then taking a vacation to Cancun
Here is the bottom line for me
I KNOW that Republicans will get rid of the filibuster as soon as it serves their purpose
The Dems will just stand there dumbfounded....again.. watching people like Lindsey Graham or Mitch McConnell suddenly be in favor of the thing they just opposed
Their words MEAN NOTHING
