Straw serious question, I understand the importance of being vaccinated but why be concerned with the unvaccinated? If they catch the variant and pass no loss, vaccination will prevent severe illness and death. Survival of the fittest.
I've probably answered this question at least 5 times on this board
Here is my answer from yesterday
Serious question.... I'd like to hear your view in this since you're a vaccine proponent. Not trying to be an ass.
Why mandate a vaccine on people that have a +99% chance of recovering from Covid? Especially since we now known that the vaccinated can carry / spread the virus?
I've answered this question multiple times on this board but I guess I'll do it again
First of all there is no mandate on the general population to get vaccinated
The current surge in hospitalizations is largely due to the unvaccinated.
Their choice not to get vaccinated impacts EVERYONE because it's causing ICU's to fill up which impacts everyone else who need medical attention....especially urgent care
Here is one example, DFW Area Pediatric ICU Beds More Than 99% Occupied
Stephen Love, President of the DFW Hospital Council, said that will help protect younger children who can’t yet get the vaccine, and keep them out of the hospital.
“The reason we want to keep as many intensive care beds available – not only for adults, but pediatrics – we have car wrecks, people have heart attacks, they have strokes,” said Love. “We need that bed capacity for non-COVID type emergencies.
Unvaccinated people are also giving the virus a large population to infect and give the virus more opportunities to mutate...which again effect EVERYONE
