I am probably going to grab one of those bars as stright bar curls feel shitty on my wrists.

Yeah that is the entire point of the better bars less wrist pain. The fixed weight ones at the gym don’t roll right and the cheap adjustable ones don’t have enough supination or the bar isn’t thick enough with good curling. You may want to use chalk as well as the bar will try to roll once it gets heavy. The idea is to keep that wrist curled even at the bottom not to let it open up once it opens much hard to close.

But yeah I have some wrist pain now from using the cheap bars which is why I was excited to get my quality bars yesterday

I thought the pec tear was filling in? Why wouldn't you have it repaired? No insurance Brian?

It is filling in it was worse which is why I didn’t flex it before. But it takes time. There is nothing to repair the tear is not to the tendon it is the meaty part of the muscle. The doctor told me it would be like trying to sew hamburger meat back together. But the tendon is still fully attached which is good news the dr said there wasn’t as much muscle attached to the tendon but the tendon is intact and the connection to the bone is fine. They can’t see muscle back together they repair and sew tendons back together.  It muscle can howrteiphy and fill in. I have seen multiple orthopedics about it and they all said no surgery would make it weaker not stronger

Like I said you guys keep doing jumping jacks and burpees I prefer heavy curls it’s also a good core workout the abs are stabilizers in the standing curl the traps the lats the front delts all come into the lift. But the power is weird it’s like it builds up and you need a release after that extra day. I enjoy it I know my age you think I should be on the Assualt bike and stair stepper doing battle ropes and kegel exercises with you guys but I prefer heavy lifting

Are you kidding? Do you care to compare your core? What I do puts more stress and works the core better than all that nonsense SC does for 3 hours bear crawling across the gym. Lifting heavy weights is absolutely an effective core workout the abs stabilize everything. I am 223lbs and this is my midsection today after 2 bacon sandwiches and 5 sausage links because I trained heavy last night. So yes absolutely I feel qualified to talk about core training. I also use the belt at heavy max singles not on working sets

I am 45 years old. I am going to do what I enjoy doing.  I enjoy heavy curls and arm work. I also do train legs but I am never going to compete at the Arnold or Olympia in conventional squats deadlifts or bench press due to injuries. I think I can compete at a bid national show with a little more training in curls surprisingly despite injuries and age and they are fun.  I also do think they will improve my arms. So it is a win win that doesn’t mean I am not training everything else.
