You can see them push back hard against the wall during the lift, if it wasnt there they couldnt move the weight without arching and cheating...

Exactly my point.

eature=share[/youtube]

Does anyone really think this retard can standing barbell curl with 165 lbs without the wall?

What a joke!

I am doing heavy singles again with the Goat Jan 28th.

"The GOAT"  LOL  ::)
Big Z is the GOAT.
This guy curls. No one ever heard of him.

Thats like saying "John Tidler is the GOAT at chalking a cue" when he's in the room with Joseph Mosconi or Efren Reyes.

??Anything that restricts movement is harder right, like with the arm blaster that holds your arms in place  ???
Cause when just “strict” standing curl it would not be as strict as curling against a wall. Very simple to understand really. Even when you think you are very strict curling it wouldn’t be as strict as back against the wall.

Even if you could somehow keep your back perfectly stiff In a standing barbell curl you can let the elbows go behind the back and drag the bar up close to the body reducing the leverage of the bar making it easier

But again why do I have to explain physics?

By defintion it is cheating if you are standing without a wall behind you and yes absolutely, I can curl a lot more without a wall behind me that I have to keep my butt and back on. A strict curl is much harder not sure what part of that you don't get.

.

We've seen you Hankins, you'd look floppy like a fish out of water without the wall backing you. Same reason you chose a seated press.

I hit a 156.5 in my first last and only competition December 10th. I did a 157.5 Jan 11th. I am doing heavy singles again with the Goat Jan 28th.

I hope you drop a weight on your toe for this :(. The Goat, lol.

yes and no, you can brace yourself with the arm blaster and cant cheat, with no arm blaster nothing to brace against so you would cheat on the curl

so you are in agreement, you cant strict curl 150lbs unless you brace yourself against the wall

so, it's much easier to do standing barbell curls, can you show a proof you can do it with 150 lbs?

Use this video as the standard.

Strict curl by defintion is against a wall without a wall it is called a cheat curl they have contest for cheat curling and the numbers are much higher
Not if you don`t cheat....just an FYI.....strict means no cheating wall, or no wall.

Look at that shake at 19 seconds in, no way would that look under control if he couldn't brace himself on the wall.

You can't explain physics because you can't count to 15 properly.

Brian, why did you put out a video of a 225# squat for 15 reps when you clearly only did 13?

I am compelling the defendant to answer the question.  (I thought that would help you feel better in answering)

But he is 230 lbs lean mass with abs minus legs, can easily standing barbell curl 150+ lbs, no against wall, no cheating, no body swinging.

A true genetic freak!

Somehow ???

There is no somehow, your body remains super straight and you curl with biceps power alone.

Nothing should move except the bar as your biceps alone perform the curl.....hence the meaning of the word STRICT

No swinging,no momentum, and no bending forward or backward at the waist.

You`re not doing the above with your back against a wall, and obviously your poundage would be greatly reduced.....this is why your boy started this Mickey Mouse bullshit.....he`s good at doing ballistic 3/4 rep curls while almost entirely skipping the eccentric portion of the movement by quickly dropping the weight into the bottom position rather than lowering the bar in a controlled manner under biceps power alone.

I almost feel embarrassed for you competing in this clown organization.

The Seated Military Press:

The seated military press is identical to the standing press, except it’s done while seated on a bench instead of standing on your feet.

Here’s what it looks like:

The seated military press requires either a dedicated station, like this . . .

military press station
Or a squat rack or power cage like these . . .

To do the seated military press, place your feet flat on the ground about shoulder-width apart with your toes and knees slightly turned out.

Press your heels into the ground to keep your upper back and butt rooted in place against the back of the bench.

The rest of the movement is just like a standing military press.

Here’s how it looks:

The first thing you’ll notice about the seated military press is it’s significantly easier than the standing press.

This is why many well-informed strength training experts like Mark Rippetoe say the standing variation is better for developing whole-body strength and muscularity.

A study conducted by scientists at FacSogn og Fjordane University College supports this claim.

In this study, the researchers had 15 young, healthy lifters perform both the seated and standing military press with 80% of their one-rep max (1RM). The researchers also attached electrodes to the men’s deltoids, biceps, and triceps to measure muscle activation.

To record muscle activation, they used an electromyograph (EMG), which measures the electrical activity within a muscle. More electrical activity within a muscle indicates more muscle fibers contracting, which translates into a more powerful stimulus for muscle growth.

The researchers found that overall muscle activation was slightly higher in the standing versus seated military press, but the differences weren’t huge.

That said, there are a few drawbacks to the standing military press that you should be aware of:

You won’t be able to move as much weight.
You’ll progress slower.
You’ll need more time to get good at it.
You see, the standing military press isn’t just a shoulder exercise—it’s a whole-body exercise that requires many support muscle groups to engage and work together, including the abs, lats, and lower back.

This is why most people find they can press about 10% more weight when seated versus standing and progress to heavier weights faster.
