A fiend of my mom's worked as a nurse in delivery. She said that whatever horror you might imagine, there were deliveries that exceeded everyone's worst imaginational horror. I would not want to be the person playing God in these cases, but medical science is able to sustain life that previously would have not been sustainable. Callous though it may seem on my part, I think we keep these abominations alive today when their futures is only one of suffering and misery. It seems like medical science is sometimes headed in the wrong direction. It should be more concerned about the quality of life than preserving life at all costs. Like I said I don't want to be the one playing God in these situations.
