
A social media campaign to remove the image from the vehicle ensued after the woman posted the photo on the @Everydaysexism Twitter page.
Some of the people involved with the campaign have since received threats of violence and even gang rape.
Initially police said they couldn’t do anything as they hadn’t received any other complaints – but they later backtracked once anger started to grow online.
Police have now given the owner of the vehicle 48 hours to remove it from their truck – with one policewoman saying the image was "very offensive and deeply shocking".
