I thought about my mom when I wrote this. She was proud of her body. She would have liked the compliment. Heck, wherever she is, if she's in a place where she's aware of that post, she would think it was cool and a compliment.

No fight, but you all didn't know my mom. She had a great body and she was very proud of it. When she was in her 50's she sent my wife and I a photo of herself standing next to to pool, wearing a white fringe bikini and go go boots. At the time, I was so uptight that I thought it was inappropriate. In the thirty some years since she died, I have come to appreciate her zaniness.

Unfortunately for her, her bad habits, binge drinking and smoking tons of cigarettes eventually ruined her looks. Ten years after she sent us that photo, she looked many decades older. I can't begin to imagine how hard that must have been for her. When she was young, she was a fashion model in NY. My mom died when she was only 61 years old, but she lived big up until the time she died.
