imo, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Madman was his best efforts

and yeah, he lost it in the 80s

although i have to adimt that i did like "Little Jeannie"

He lost me even earlier than that. Similar to Rod Stewart somehow who fucked it up after "A Night On The Town". The seventies died in 1976.

Around that time, yes. As for Floyd i actually prefer the more psychedelic Sy Barrett-influenced era (though I love Wish You Were here album). Robert Wyatt's "Rock bottom" is from 1974. Good era.
