Why? Because people are sheeps (mass psychology). Back in the day, almost anyone had one or more albums of them, almost an obsession, like there wasn't anything else. As a child I grew up with this stuff (-> parents). Don't get me wrong, they made great songs/well produced albums, but I never believed in the best this or that, there are too many interesting artists on this planet to make such claims.
