Yeah in Bandera the guy would have just gone missing, never to be found.
Funny story, my good friend's dad had a house out in the woods of Bandera. Very redneck area. There was a dispute about a muffler falling off a car and it was on my friend's dads property. He tossed the muffler across the dirt road on another property. The next day his house was shot up like 20 times with rifle. True story. We were there the next weekend and saw the bullet holes.
I grew up on a farm West of Houston and lived inside the City limits of Houston for 30+ years.
In the rural parts of Texas it is the Wild West to a degree.
Toughest parts of Texas that I saw were Bandera and Houston (Bandera definitely the toughest). People go missing in Bandera and unless you're from those parts, you don't go in there fucking around.
I think I've been all around Houston over the years and one thing I must say is that the guys there are built differently. Everyone keeps to themselves, but the moment you look for trouble, shit WILL go down. Literally, No-Country-For-Old-Men shit goes down in Houston.
Also, is it just me or are the Mexicans in Houston different from your standard Mexican? The Houston Mexicans I met looked straight out of a fucking movie. They were tall, built like mack trucks and all looked intimidating.
Anyhow, I'll lay off the Texas talk. For as much as I like the place, the weather always kills me when it gets incredibly hot.
