Rolled jiu-jitsu tonight at a new area. Very cool group of guys - good fun. Felt my back almost go during a sprawl and had an 'oh, shit' moment, but I'm sure it will be fine. Popping a newly prescribed little diazepam with a glass of red to help it along. Life is good.

Its a good new activity for socialization with like minded people.

It is but when you age past a certain point you will start accumulating injuries from it.

It's inevitable as it is a contact sport.

Hopefully the injuries you will sustain are not permanent like knee and shoulders.

Be smart about it.

Who's this faggot?

Yeah, man. I like swinging by these sorts of places and getting some cardio in. Different atmosphere to weightlifting gyms.

Glad your involved in a healthy activity.

Haha, life is all about balance. it's only 5 mg to ease off muscles around the discs. Can't even feel it. I doubt I'll end up like Jordan Peterson.

So far most of the guys are pretty cool and try to be safe.  I'm sure there will be some aholes here and there, the culture of the place seems to be very laid back for the most part for people not into the competition side of things.

Build top heavy 1rm Thurster = 210#

70% of above x 7 reps = 140#

For time, 20 reps thruster @ 95# = :47

Build to moderate 5 rep front squat : 205 (7/10 RPE)

3 sets of front foot elevated front rack split squat 3x8/leg @ 135#

Max UB set of bar muscle ups : 12

20 mins @ 70% max HR with nasal breathing only.   (FUCK ME on this)

Chest and triceps at home

60 degree incline barbell press 1x7, 1x12
Press behind neck 1x6, 1x11
Close grip bench press 1x9, 1x8
Incline lateral raise 2x12
Incline dumbbell extension 2x12
Single arm pushdown 1x13, 1x9

Probably going to train exclusively at home now, since doing a few sessions at home realised I’m quite a bit weaker on barbell movements since using machines at gym, once the novelty of all the fancy machines wear off you find most of them are actually utter shit and prefer barbell movements (cables being the exception but have lat pull/low row at home and can do most things on that) plus no annoying pieces of shit all over the place at home like in gym

For those who forgot, Henda won The Foozle's Choice award last year.

He has a lot of work to do here over the next ten days to represent that title.

Yeah - it's very common. I know someone who also has to take them for neck issues. They relax the muscles, apparently. The doc has put me on them for occasions when the disc goes, as the surrounding muscles become so tight that I occasionally end up looking contorted with uneven hips (and sleep is also difficult). Lasts for about 4 days until everything loosens off.

Now I'm to take 5 mg before I do the stretches during the acute pain phase. I've only got enough for three days but one pill and stretching last night has seemed to help.

Also: congrats, Henda. That's awesome.
