LOL. I haven't skipped breakfast on a non-fast day since I was a kid in the gym. To go from eating every 3-4 hours to last meal at 10pm and next one at 2pm next day is not skipping breakfast in my books. That's skipping 3-4 meals and it's a big difference.

1am meal gone, 9am meal, 12pm meal all out the window.

people normally eat three meals a day not 6

Breakfast, Lunch and dinner/evening meal

When I was a kid at school my last meal was my "tea" as we called it in the North West at about 16.30, my next thing to eat if I was lucky was breakfast (a bowl of cereal) at 08.30, if I was up late which I was most of the time my next meal was 12.00 my school dinner.

Oh, and there was no fat kids when I was at school.

Yes I've been doing this for over a year now, look into the benefits of prolonged fasting,  some to Name a few..increase growth hormone production, increase stem cell production, immune system strengthening,  autagraphy. I drink water and add in Redmond real salt in it.

Fasting for sure is the ticket, I do a 3 day fast every 2 months, and it does wonders, look how flat his stomach is after 1 day..and no way will he be natty ever again.


I do 60-66 hours once a quarter. I’m doing one week after next. I stop eating at dinner on Sunday, at 7pm and don’t eat until lunch time on Wednesday. I can see how some people get clarity and pray and stuff when fasting. The first few times I did it, I didn’t get that way, but I’ve done it for a few years now  and realistically by the third day I do not need to eat and sometimes feel bad, like a failure, for eating lol. I can usually shed about 8lbs which is water but it does make your face and what not look leaner.

You're right about people before the 90's being a lot thinner than these days.

tbh I was a thin kid until high school/grammar school and then ended up munching a lot because of school stress. Lost the weight about 16 and hit the gym at 18 onwards so increased calories. I haven't been fat since and that was a long time ago. My saving grace is: I don't have sugar. Same as fructose/fruit: I don't eat fruit. I get my vitamin c tabs in those dispersable rolls: tastes like orangeade that's my sweet treats. Haven't ate a piece of chocolate in years. One little bar would probably last me a month if I chipped away every day that's how little interest I have in sugar. So yes I eat a lot of white meat/fish but hardly carbs or sugars unless it's jacket spuds if I'm feeling going down that route.

36-48hr fast was pretty good for me, eat my last meal at 8pm, no food the next day, and then break the fast some time the following day.  If nothing else, you'll free up a bunch of time that was otherwise spent cooking/eating/cleaning  ;D 

i work construction now and I'm worried it'll impact my performance at work so I haven't done it in years

Intermittent fasting is amazing.

I tried a weekend fast but only made it 36 hours.

With my schedule and activity level, i don't see how it's possible.

The key is to already be in ketosis, so you experience zero carb withdrawal "keto flu" symptoms or else you'll feel like shit most likely 2 out of the 3 days you fast. If you're already in ketosis prior to doing a fast you'll feel like you're on rocket fuel, your ketone levels will be optimal, you'll feel crazy mental focus like you've never felt before, I've swam for 4 hours straight once during a fast just because my energy levels were through the roof.

Just drink when thirsty, the more you drink, the more you piss, which means you're losing electrolytes, thus needing to take in more electrolytes. Just drink when thirsty if you're fasting or not fasting honestly.

Now a 3 day fast would be different I suppose since I wouldn't train but in the past the problem with sticking with Intermittent fasting was the low energy levels when I trained.

I've done 3 day fasts a few times (only water and black coffee), the only problem for me is I ride mountain bikes (10hrs per week average) and the fasting would make riding impossible (HR in Z4 for 1-2 hrs at time with some Z3 and Z5). After the fasts it would take 7+ days for riding return to normal. I think Z2 intensity while fasting can be done but that would kill my cardio shape. Aside from that fasting is great, clear mind, no thinking about food, saves time not having to eat

I would love to know what it feels like to sleep 12 freaking hours!! I know I did when I was a teenager, but I opened my first business at 22 and had to be up by 5. Now I don’t have any reason to wake that early, but I guess my internal clock is fckd up. I am actually the dude that wakes the roosters up.

My wife and I have done OMAD for a couple of years now and I have seen too many benefits to ever go back. Lately I’ve been having a very light lunch so technically not as strict as her. We were talking the other day about doing extended fasts. Was it hard sleeping when you first started? I have a very hard time falling asleep hungry. My main meal is fairly late and I have zero problems during the day. I normally am busy and don’t even think about it. What surprised me when we started IF was how I didn’t lose an ounce of muscle and maybe even have grown some. I know I don’t get over 100 grams of protein a day and I maintain about 205 pretty damn lean. I’m only 5’9.8675309 (for Matt 😁)

Sleeping is a bit difficult if you're prolonged fasting, for that I'll take a few hits of weed, that usually does the trick.
