Too bad Maryland doesn't allow its citizens to carry concealed weapons to protect themselves.  This week in my town a would-be carjacker was shot in the stomach with a .45 in my town.  I'd like those odds much more than "keeping your head down and hoping not to piss anyone off".

Me too.  No duty to retreat.  And in my county, violent and person-on-person crime is way down.  Criminals know they can catch a bullet stealing a car radio or trying to strongarm rob someone.  Almost every week, you hear about someone else shooting a person in self-defense.  And the good ol redneck media plays it up too.
