Eating is usually full body high and smoking is usually a head high for me anyways. Also the strain and wether indica or sativa as indica is relaxing and sativa is more get up and do stuff weed. Then there’s hybrids of both and some strains are relaxing and some put you in paranoia land. I take very small doses of edibles usually 3-5 mgs and sometimes 5 I’m out of my mind. And when I smoke I take 1-2 puffs usually. Also edibles can take 30 min to 2 hours to kick in and smoking is instant For me.
How we smoked Has in the 70`s:
Smoking hash using a pin and a glass is a traditional technique often called the "cup method" or "hash cup."

How to Do ItPrepare the Pin: Stick a safety pin or a thumbtack through a piece of cardboard or a coaster so the sharp end points straight up.
Mount the Hash: Roll a small piece of hash into a tiny "snake" or ball and press it onto the tip of the pin.
Light It: Use a lighter to ignite the hash until it catches fire. Let it burn for a few seconds, then blow out the flame so the hash continues to smolder like a stick of incense.
Trap the Smoke: Quickly place an inverted glass (like a pint glass or wine glass) over the pin. The glass will gradually fill with thick, white smoke.
Inhale: Once the glass is full, slightly tilt the edge or slide it off the coaster and inhale the trapped smoke.
We also had Hash oil that we would put on joints and smoke them.
