This wasn't the issue with Lee although he did leave his family for a bikini girl.  I've competed since 2004 in the NPC and IFBB.  Schmoes are out there but I've never been told that a judge is one.

I think on the judging level they aren't "out and open" schmoes, but rather competitors get to know that this one or that one is gay, and they can try their hand at cozying up to them at the private level. While not openly gay, there used to be a lot of older, unmarried men judging contests back in the day, there might still be now.

In Europe most of the judges are former competitors and/or have financial interest in this industry. The sexual motives are less prevalent.
