Has anybody here considered that we might be on the verge of WW3 and we can't afford to have Cuba, China, Russia, and Iran's influence and presence that close to the US, with access to Venezuelan oil or at the very least denying the US access to it?

"Trump and Rubio said that targeting Venezuela was in part about reestablishing U.S. dominance in the Western Hemisphere, reasserting the philosophy of President Monroe as China and Russia work to enhance their presence in the region. The Trump administration's national security strategy, published last month, previewed a renewed focus on Latin America after the region faced neglect from Washington over decades."

I believe 100% that it was incompetence. By the time their military knew what was happening it had been over for hours. They are so far behind they probably thought they were fighting troops from the future.

The more you read about Venezuela the more you realise how truly fucked up things are... look into something called "colectivos".

Yeah I'm not personally knowledgeable about their military and so on. I can also easily see them being corrupt and accepting bribes to just lay down or betraying their President.

They should keep going now that theyre on a roll, now that they have captured Maduro, they should not stop there, keep at it and capture Macron, Mahmadi, Ilhan Omar, Zelensky etc

American "leaders" are flexing as long as it's still possible.
The only aim is to destabilize "anybody anywhere on the globe" - it's a HUGE gamble but aspiring super powers are hesitant to pick up "unwanted leadership positions" so they sit by and watch. The tactics are 101% "Chutzpah" but as long as nobody powerful is laying down the law it's the fastest way to assert dominance and ride a fading tiger.

One of the reason for "Mission Venezuela" is controlling oil that China wants - the US empire now has an ace up their sleeve. The peoples / population do not matter, never have.
