I think all most people are saying is that you're poor technically and you need some improvement and that Josh is much more fundamentally sound. They are not saying you are universally bad and without virtue. Maybe you'd knock him out, he knows that, you know that. But the question of who is a better boxer is fucking obvious. The guy that boxes.
I don't know why people like you (hank included) act so poorly when you come across that sort of commentary. I think "great, I can get better, no problems". You spend 7 pages of a thread having to defend yourself against everybody whilst imagining that somehow, the version of truth you have in your head is still preserved. Who gives a fuck if you're not sound fundamentally now, what is that but a few adjustments and practice. Why are you so against that? Fuck, even hank worked on his squat. You're now more pig headed than hank about this. Not one person would say shit if you just said, oh yeah, I'm dropping my hands, I'll work on it. Instead, you'd rather waste your life trying to beat reality into submission so that you can avoid the obvious.
I always thought you were a rational guy?
Post reported for being 100% rational
In all seriousness, it is human nature to dig your heels in when confronted about something you're passionate about. When an outsider's perspective is not aligned with what someone has of themselves it can hurt, it can be uncomfortable, it can put that person in a place where they might need to change. It is easier to double down than actually take criticism. (sound like someone we all know?) For most, criticism is somehow equated to being a bad person (as you pointed out about Ro). I am sure some of us are old school in that we were used to just being told when we did things wrong and if we did things 'right' we didn't get praised because there was no need.
I know jack shit about boxing but the wide, straight arm thing doesn't look 'right' to me. The only way to truly tell if you are any good is to actually get in the ring for REAL with someone at least of your own level and see what happens.
