You have a point but they say America is a melting pot. It's a nation of immigrants. It's merely an idea. The founders were racists but that's not what America is.

They say that, to me it seems it was conceived as nation for whites. I do think America has a responsibility to blacks, they were brought there.

The funniest retort to the African vs Black thing I heard was between two guys getting fast food. One guy gets flustered, and goes "Ni--gga, I'm Black, I don't know shit about no fucking lions!"  That sorta sums up the US Black understanding of Africa. Lions and Shaka Zulu come from there. To be fair, it's like that for a lot of American racial/ethnic groups.
