I don't have to do any research.  Maybe you should do a spell check (Reagsn?).  It's all in my head, son.  I majored in political science.  But obviously you had to do some searching before you came up with that.  However, I stand corrected.  Clinton did match Reagan in approval rating.  If you want to compare the presidential records of the two, you will find that Reagan was one of the many presidents NOT impeached.  And if you want to go back far enough, post JFK, I'll take any argument against the republican presidents vs. the democrats, Nixon included.  LBJ was the one that sent the first air strikes into Vietnam, and was a racist until he died.  Bush Jr. wouldn't have even made it into his "good 'ole boy club."  After the chaos of the 70's we sent good 'ole Jimmy Carter into office.  What was his approval rating?  After that, well, you've got one speck from the democrats, but yet continued dominance by the republicans in office.  Nothing does more for an approval rating than actually BEING IN OFFICE.  It's hard to get an approval rating when you can't even get elected.
