The biggest thing against Richard Jones winning a pro contest is the fact that Richard Jones is smart enough to know that Richard Jones juicing for a chance at a 10k purse (or whatever miniscule amount they're giving) is not worth it.

He might be genetically blessed with potential physique wise but the fact he's a smart guy is way more important and he could make money a whole easier without any risk to his health elsewhere.

Bump for common sense..... did anyone else notice that when he announced he was stepping away from BB that Shawn Ray was ridiculing him and calling him a punk ...class act he is.. that one, the little guy i mean.

Honestly there is no comparison...yet. Phil is absolutely amazing and I expect him to be the next great thing to hit bb. That being said Shawn Ray was an absoultely amazing bb but Shawn is also a legend in the sport. He has solidified his name for being a warrior on and off the stage and that is what sets them apart. Just like Arnold can be declared the greatest because of both his career and what he gave back to his sport. Plus if you stood Shawn on the stage next to a Phil still being a rookie, Phil would probably lose. Shawn has 13+ years of development compared to Phil 4 years. But the excitement about Phil is what he will become in the future. Phil came this far in 4 years so think about what he can do in 2007. He will be practically unbeatable in 2-3 years mark my words. Much like a Flex Wheeler but without all the insecurities and the illness that plagued Flex his whole career and held him back.

well, Phil had a better rookie year than shawn did, that's for sure. Shawn got 4th at his pro debut, the 88 NOC, behind Phil Hill, Robbie Robinson and Bob Paris then went on to place very low at the O...well low for all the hype shawn was getting.

too bad Phil Hill fizzled out, I would have loved to see those 2 go at it for years.....could have been a war.

As for Richard Jones, we were and still are friends.

I helped the dude, guided him, fed him, drove him to the gym, trained with him and gave him Advices'.
Dont start making up stuff, he and I are cool, always have been, his best move was to move on and out of BBing as there is more to life and he understood that.

The comparison was inevitable as they are similar (Ray & Heath) in many ways.
