Cool.  I wanted to get it but was scared off by people warning.  I hope flex addresses it, at least to apologize and maybe offer to mail any offended parties an autographed photo or something nice.

It appears Flex may just be waiting for the furor to calm down, has he has been online since. If he was going to bust out some form of an apology I would assume he would have done it already. I mean the complaints started coming in 3 days.

Extremely poor business decision. But then, with all due respect, considering that he went from one of the top bodybuilders in the world, all these fancy cars etc. to having Shawn Ray beg for money for him online I would assume his business skills are piss poor in general.

I was refering to his own MD forums, where there are also a fair amount of complaints posted.

Unlike you I have to cross international oceans at great expense. I don't exactly live close by. Despite that, I have attended numerous IFBB shows over the years. I usually attend the O actually, but had no intention of spending thousands of dollars after that ridiculous production last year. I always attend the Arnold, as it is a quality show. I have spent significant amounts of money over the years supporting the IFBB and my company actually sponsors two pros from this region. Cheapness was never a factor.

The Olympia will not gain supporters by ripping people off with a webcast. And lets' face it, bodybuilding in general, let alone the IFBB needs supporters.

Shawn, you are an outspoken guy, why is your boy not manning up and speaking about his company's crap webcast?

Classless, shawn.  Someone sold a faulty product to BBing fans.  Your best defense would be to not address the issue at all.

I'm not familiar with the exact problems, as I just returned home from Vegas.
I bleieve Flex is still there or home with his wife and kids.
Reporting back here is probably on his "List f things to do" but it is not at the Top of his list.
Send him an email you might get a faster response.
Simply put, when you attend the show, you dont have Internet Problems.
Dont shoot the messenger, the Contest went fine. :-*

Thanks for your response Shawn.

I concur with your point about attending the show, and I probably will next year, but ripping off people with a webcast will not grow the fanbase in general.

In the end it makes no never mind to me. The vid is all over the net now anyway. Flex and Hardbody are the ones who are having their rep ruined in the cyberworld for this - not me, my finances are fine. None of my friends has ever had to send out emails begging for money for me ;)

I dont believe their intent was to "Rip Off" the Fans.
That being said, they should eb comended for their efforts to bring the Contest to you not coined as Rip Offs.
In Cyber Space this stuff can and does happen.
Address the Principles and I'm sure there will be a resolution but when you guys Bitch Moan and Complain, its a wonder they try to put this stuff out there and make it available in the first place.
I hope they dont even bother next year then you guys will be here bitching about that! :'(

I concur that their intent was not to rip off the fans.

But that is what they did.

I saw *nothing* of the finals. Nothing. I was, despite any lack of intention, "ripped off"

The complaints started 3 days ago, my main point is that they should have been addressed as as aspect of good business.

If one checks my post history, apart from my recent tirades about the webcast I am positive. I would like to see this sport grow. When our 'superbowl' of bodybuilding is covered only by a faulty webcast it serves to make this industry look like amateur hour and negatively affects us all.

My main point is, mistakes happen...cool....just fix it.

shawn, the problem is that his whole team knew there was a problem.  IT was all over every board. ANd he spent time on the boards on saturday, but only to plug his dvd sale.  And he was reported to be joking about the "whiny musclegeeks" online complaining about the quality of their webcast.

Fact is, it's monday afternoon.  It takes about 2 minutes to log onto 3 message boards and type an apology for the inconvenience.  He's been online yesterday and today, and no mention of it.

So it's not a 'he's too busy to get to it'.

His team blamed Embarq on friday.  Okay.  Then refund the $ and collect from Embarq for the screw up.

The fact that's not happening, and he's not addressing it publicly, makes it look like it was his fault, and he doesn't care about the customers.

The show was great this year and well runned - Hardbody just did not have their operation together. IFBB did a 200% better job this year.

Agreed on the IFBB and Weider!  Great job.  I know I have come down hard on HBE but I am just a little disappointed on missing it LIVE, that's all.  GREAT SHOW!

Even though I was not at the show, I have talked to many folks and heard it was very well run.

I know that from what judging I did get to see, it was well run and expedited.  Jim Rockell always does a fantastic job.  I thought for a minute during one of the men's judging rounds, that he was going to go up and smack Ronnie and a few of the other guys around for taking their sweet @$$ time getting into the mandatories!  LOL.

Anyhow, maybe I'll be there in person next year with my gal!   ;)

Yes, I hear the show was much better run. I would have seen it myself, but hardbody sucks azz. Good to see the IFBB cleaning up and doing a better production. The best in the world descerve nothing less. I actually just got of the phone with a friend, and we have confirmed that we are going next year. After my brief hiatus of not attending the O, I am quite ready to go back.

Flex - If I see you there I will be demanding my refund. And yes, I am quite serious.

Agreed... Jim does a great job.

What's interesting is that HBE had all the rights to media locked up. I'm told that Lonnie Teper and Bill Comstock had some great footage of Jay and Ronnie talking in the hallway (prior to the announcement). There were also some other good snipetts. But Flex threatened to sue them so no-one will ever get to see that footage.

It's just too bad that HBE had all the problems. I guess some of the greatest moments in bodybuilding history will never be seen.
and keep moving!

Truth be told, you have to leave the internet stuff to the internet geeks who understand how it all works.

I haven't read HBE's mission statement, but I suspect that streaming digital media is not their area of expertise.
