The 2010 NPC Excalibur Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championships, a National Qualifier, is just one week away, and it is going to be a most excellent contest, with possibly 200+ competitors. It is the final NPC contest of the year here in Southern California, and we will be there covering the event! Prejudging is early for this contest, it starts at 10am, while the finals beging at 6:30pm. The contest is in Culver City at the Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium. One of the very first NPC contests of the year for 2011 will be in Los Angeles, on January 29th, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The 2011 NPC Ironman Magazine Naturally Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championships is going to be a polygraph tested contest, and will be on stage at the Fitness Expo convention. I will be there covering the event, and the winners will be featured in Ironman Magazine, as well as on a few notable web sites. Don’t miss it. Sacramento proved to be a bonanza for Amanda Latona as she rocked the stage up here, dominating a small field with her sass, presence and booming bikini figure as she took first place after her first contest since the 2010 Olympia. Jesssica Putman also looked great, beaming when she was called in second place, with Natalie Pennington taking the third spot in qualifying for the 2011 Olympia. I was quite impressed with Laura Calderson here in Sacramento, as well as Vanessa Prebyl, who took 4th and 5th respectively. Both are vastly improved since I last saw them! Here are the results… 1. What a surprise! We came into this contest expecting a battle between Jose, Stan and Peter, and boom – Tricky Jackson exploded and had the best overall physique, moving into the top spot, and regulating an improved and lean Peter Putman into 4th place, and out of the qualifying Mr. Olympia spot. The 2010 IFBB/NPC Sacramento bodybuilding, figure and bikini competition is going to be a good contest, with 190+ NPC Competitors, 14 IFBB Pro Bikini competitors, and 19 IFBB Men’s Bodybuilding 202lbs and under competitors. The event will be held at the Crest Theatre, 1013 K Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, and the Host Hotel is the Courtyard Sacramento Airport Natomas, 2101 River Plaza Drive, Sacramento, CA 95833 All NPC Check-In’s are at the Host Hotel from 2 to 9pm on Friday, November 5th. NPC Bodybuilders may also check in on Saturday, November 6th at 8:15am in the morning at the Crest Theater. IFBB Women’s Bikini Check in is at 6pm Friday evening at the Host Hotel. Here we go, the latest information about the NPC Men’s Physique Division, starting in 2011. Beginning in 2011 a new division for men will be introduced – Men’s Physique. The following are the guidelines/rules. Judging Criteria: * Muscularity and Body Condition: Judges will be looking for fit contestants who display proper shape and symmetry combined with muscularity and overall condition. This is not a bodybuilding contest so extreme muscularity should be marked down. * Stage Presence and Personality: Contestants will be asked to walk in board shorts (shorts must be just above the knee in length and can be one inch below the belly button, no spandex and no logos are permitted on the board shorts however a manufacturer’s logo such as Nike symbol or Billabong are acceptable. Competitors will enter the stage without a shirt and barefoot. No lewd acts are allowed. Example: The moon pose. Judges are looking for the contestant with the best stage presence and poise who can successfully convey his personality to the audience. COMPETITION JUDGING Presentation: * Competitors will walk to the center of the stage alone and perform quarter (1/4) turns with optional pose of hand on hip or hand in pocket, face…
