What is the sense of having a pickup truck unless you have a construction business or haul heavy equipment.

They serve no other purpose if you're just using it to drive around for every day use.

Sure a lot of people drive to Starbucks, work then back home - they drive cars...but some of us do more like hauling or towing things. Stuffing 40 bags of mulch or a 12 foot board in a car is not a doable thing. As for this time of year a big 4wd truck is great in the snow as well.

I like my truck, because it makes me feel more rugged.  Kind of like wearing a flannel in the city.  Sadly, i've never had anything larger than groceries in the back of my truck.   :-\

I drive a Smart Car.

Poser or tiny dick syndrome AKA Coach Disease?  ;D

But serious, yeah most people don't need a truck. Most people need a truck once or twice a year. If you only got one vehicle, it is better to rent one and  put wear and tear on the rental.
That being said, as a Texan, a lot of people have trucks, not everyone drives them daily.

I'd be lost, being a homeowner, without a truck.  There's always something!  I love them.  But I do have a classic old Cutlass for a fun car, too.

I have a Town & Country van with Stow-n-Go seats.

Carries a lot if necessary.

Had a '76 Cutlass Supreme.

Great car but got T-boned by a teenager in his brand new Z-28.

He said: "I just got this car!!!!!"

I have 2 of em'. Big diesel for pulling trailers and taking trips, get 20 mpg and the Cumins will last a million miles and small Toyota can go 4 wheelin' in the mountains and desert, haul dogs in back, haul hay, haul refrigerator, move friends, haul lumber, haul yard trash. I just cut down a tree and hauled the whole thing to the dump.Great in deep snow,I've even slept in the back of it.
Vesatility......Comfort. ..Durability..

trucks do not look "dated"

1997-2004 Ford F-150 looks pretty sh*t now

1993-2001 Dodge Ram looks dated.

Silverados in general have maintained strong DNA since mid 90s which help with looking less dated.

Original Tundra 00-06 looks severely outdated.

Saw the new 19 Ford Ranger XLT Crew FX4 this week which was a let down in person.  The Tacoma won’t lose any sleep.

Out of current batch of new half tons the Ram and GMC have the best look IMO.

All of them are overpriced and represent the biggest margins for all manufacturers.
