Why?  George Orwell was a leading Socialist whose very goal was a completely open society, with the free exchange of ideas and the ability to pursue art and self interest in any way one saw fit without restriction.  You have Orwell completely wrong.

I saw a girl (when i say girl..i mean a mid 20s) by herself at the beach, jumping in the air kicking her heels to her ass and taking selfies of her self doing it. The beach was dead and only a few people around but i just sat and watched her about 50 yrds away as she continued to perfect her selfie over and over again. Not once did she look up to see if anyone was watching her embarrasing antics. I often gaze at people taking selfies in hopes they get embarrased but they almost never do. Id be mortified if someone caught me doing something like that.

But im not a sociopath, so thats probably why. I wonder how there are so many sociopaths today, its crazy

Exactly.  People are not living in the moment when they're looking at everything through camera lenses.  They are capturing what they think is the moment, but it's just not the same.

Whoever decided to put cameras on mobile phones should be pistol whipped.

I think it's part of the 'new brave world' agenda. Everything is being watched, make taking pictures and putting your information out in the web seem cool and entertaining etc. and prety soon you have a complete control of information of the population.

I remember the time when putting yourself in the net was considered awkward and even suspicious. Oh well, I'm deep in this bitch.
