Michael Moore: Biden Is Losing Youth Vote, Likely He Won’t Be Reelected
Breitbart ^ | 05/01/2024 | Pam Key
Posted on 5/1/2024, 12:16:30

Liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said Monday on CNN’s “The Source” that the college protests were a danger to President Joe Biden being re-elected in November.

Partial transcript as follows:

KAITLAN COLLINS: There’s a CNN poll that showed today 81 percent of voters, who are under the age of 35 disapprove of how President Biden has been handling this war. I mean, we’re seeing it on campuses. There is a question of what we’re going to see in November. I wonder what you think he should be doing differently to change those numbers.

MOORE: Thank you for asking that question, Kaitlan. This is why I was so, when I got the call, asking if I’d like to come on tonight. I really was coming on. I know we’re speaking to millions of people. But I’d like to speak to one particular individual. And that is President Biden.

So much #winning, that people can't wait to get away from him.  When a law firm drops their client, there are three most common reasons : 1) they are not getting paid  2) the client's expectations and requests are placing them in a position of violating ethical, legal, moral boundaries,  3) it has become impossible to work with and deal with the client.

In Trumpy's case, I am pretty sure it is all three.

Law Firm Defending Trump Seeks to Withdraw From a Long-Running Case

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=Law+Firm+Defending+Trump+Seeks+to+Withdraw+From+a+Long-Running+Case

A law firm that has long defended Donald Trump’s campaign and businesses from employment lawsuits has abruptly asked to withdraw from a yearslong case over what it calls an “irreparable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship.”

The firm — LaRocca, Hornik, Greenberg, Rosen, Kittridge, Carlin and McPartland — has represented Trump’s political operation in numerous suits dating to his first presidential run, helping secure several settlements and dismissals and billing nearly $3 million in the process.

But late Friday, it asked a federal magistrate judge to allow it to withdraw from a suit filed by a former campaign surrogate, A.J. Delgado, who says she was sidelined by the campaign in 2016 after revealing she was pregnant. The timing of the motion was notable, just two days after the same federal court had ordered the campaign to turn over in discovery all complaints of sexual harassment and gender or pregnancy discrimination from the 2016 and 2020 campaigns — materials that the defendants have long resisted handing over.

In the request, filed in federal court in Manhattan, the lead lawyer, Jared Blumetti, did not provide any details about the dispute, asking permission to “explain” the matter privately with the judge. Blumetti did not respond to a request for comment.

The apparent rupture with a long-trusted firm comes at a busy time, legally speaking, for the former president.

‘It Was a Shakedown’: Michael Avenatti Tweets from Prison Saying Key Prosecution Witness in Trump Trial is Lying About Stormy Daniels
Gateway Pundit ^ | May 2, 2024 | Cassandra MacDonald
Posted on 5/3/2024, 12:47:00 PM by Red Badger

Stormy Daniels’ former attorney, Michael Avenatti, has tweeted from prison accusing a key prosecution witness of lying in the New York hush money trial against former President Donald Trump. Trump is on trial in NYC over an alleged $130,000 payment to Daniels to keep her quiet during the 2016 election — which he has denied.

On Thursday night, Avenatti tweeted, “Keith Davidson is lying. After I confronted her w/ her own text msgs, Daniels admitted to me in early 2019 that she & Davidson had extorted Trump in Oct. 2016 – it was a shakedown. This was one of the many reasons I fired her as a client in Feb. 2019.”

Mediaite reports:

Davidson testified in court on Thursday with his version of the events surrounding the supposed “hush money” payment Trump allegedly made to Daniels in an effort to keep her from speaking out about their alleged affair.

Davidson told prosecutor Joshua Steinglass that he worked out the “hush money” deal with Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen just days before the election in 2016, but claimed Trump never signed the paperwork.

According to Davidson, the paperwork included an “unenforceable” $1 million penalty for breaching the agreement.

Speaking to the New York Post from jail earlier this month, Avenatti said he is in contact with Trump’s legal team and was willing to speak out against his former client.

Avenatti is currently being held at Terminal Island, a minimum-security federal prison in Los Angeles, serving a 19-year sentence for a slate of federal crimes that include extortion, tax evasion, fraud, and embezzlement.

“I’d be more than happy to testify, I don’t know that I will be called to testify, but I have been in touch with Trump’s defense for the better part of year,” Avenatti said.

The Post reports that Avenatti would not provide any additional details about the discussion, but an unnamed source “close to Trump” confirmed that the discussions are taking place.

Avenatti used to be one of Trump’s loudest critics, but he has seemingly dramatically changed his position.

“There’s no question [the trial] is politically motivated because they’re concerned that he may be reelected,” Avenatti told the newspaper. “If the defendant was anyone other than Donald Trump, this case would not have been brought at this time, and for the government to attempt to bring this case and convict him in an effort to prevent tens of millions of people from voting for him, I think it’s just flat out wrong, and atrocious.”

“I’m really bothered by the fact that Trump, in my view, has been targeted. Four cases is just over the top and I think there’s a significant chance that this is going to all backfire and is going to propel him to the White House,” Avenatti added.

The former lawyer continued, “Depending on what happens, this could constitute pouring jet fuel on his campaign.”

“Stormy Daniels is going to say whatever she believes is going to assist Stormy Daniels and putting more money in her pocket,” Avenatti said. “If Stormy Daniels lips are moving, she’s lying for money.”

Avenatti explained that he feels like he and Trump have both been targeted by politically motivated prosecutions.

“I think that we were both targeted by the justice system,” Avenatti said. “There’s a lot of people on the left that were very concerned about my potential rise within the Democratic Party and my potential rise in Democratic politics. And the fact that I was not someone that was easily controlled.”

The imprisoned former lawyer also claimed he is not fishing for a pardon in case Trump wins a second term.

“I’m not saying any of this because I’m seeking a pardon,” Avenatti told The Post. “I wish I would have never met Stormy Daniels. I should have left her where I found her.”

Alvin Bragg’s Case Against Trump Is Imploding Fast
PJ Media ^ | 05/06/2024 | Matt Margolis
Posted on 5/6/2024, 1:59:32 PM by SeekAndFind

It was a bad week for Alvin Bragg and his case against Donald Trump. There's no other way to put it.

For starters, Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing the case, may have made a critical error that could reverse the Trump verdict upon appeal by allowing prosecutors to make certain arguments.

"Last week, during an appearance on 'Fox & Friends,' GWU law professor Jonathan Turley told Fox News that Merchan made a mistake by allowing Bragg's prosecutorial team, which former Biden administration official Michael Colangelo is leading, to say unequivocally that Trump was involved in federal election law violations."

"That jury has now been told repeatedly that there are federal election crimes here, strongly suggesting that the payment to Stormy Daniels did violate federal election laws," Turley explained. "That’s just not true.”

He cited the recent overturning of Harvey Weinstein's conviction for similar reasons as precedent.

But even the actual allegations against Trump are falling apart. Keith Davidson, the lawyer representing adult film actress Stormy Daniels, testified that the $130,000 payment to Daniels should not be construed as "hush money" but rather as a legitimate "consideration" payment. Davidson also testified that Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, was "despondent" when he didn't get a White House job after Trump won the presidency in 2016.

And then there was the testimony of former Trump aide Hope Hicks. Many in the media tried to paint her testimony as damning for Trump, but even she undermined the allegations against him.

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett called Hicks' testimony an "epic miscalculation" by the prosecution. "The moment cross-examination began, their misbegotten case against the former president began to collapse," he explained.

Kind of hard to be called a bad week when the opposition got hit with fines, the witnesses have turned in solid performances against El Lardo, and he has shown that he is losing the narrative of portraying the trial as "hush money".   ::)

Except for the fact that Cohen, unlike Avenatti, was a core part of the inner workings and participant.

Either way, he is the defense's best hope of stemming the blood flow.

Matthew Colangelo’s Wife Sits on NAACP Legal Defense Fund Board with Jonathan Soros

Manhattan prosecutor Matthew Colangelo’s wife, Anne Small, sits on the board of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Legal Defense Fund with Jonathan Soros, according to the NAACP’s website.

Small’s link to Jonathan Soros, a radical left donor to President Joe Biden, is one more example that appears to confirm the political nature of the business records trial of former President Donald Trump.

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund is a far-left political organization. Among several attacks against Republicans, it recently filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court requesting the disqualification of Trump from campaigning for office.

Small, a board member of NAACP, is a former general counsel of the Securities & Exchange Commission and a former member of the White House Counsel’s office during the Obama administration. She graduated from Yale in 1996 and Harvard Law School in 2001.

Small is married to Colangelo, who was a high-ranking Biden Justice Department (DOJ) official. Colangelo recently stepped down from his position to work in the New York County District Attorney’s office.

When Colangelo left the DOJ to help Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland praised his “wise counsel and excellent judgment” since his first day in the office.

Critics question why Colangelo would leave his powerful post to work in a local office after spending years targeting Trump.

Colangelo’s history in the Democrat Party runs deep. He worked in the Obama administration as a senior Labor Department official and found his way into Biden’s DOJ, appointed acting associate attorney general when Biden took office. In that position, as the third highest-ranking official in the department, Colangelo oversaw the Civil, Civil Rights, Antitrust, and Tax divisions, among others.
