today was back chain

hip thrust 3 x 15
adductors 4 x 12
hoist leg curl 4 x 15
single leg curl 3 x 15
hammer seated leg curl 3 x 15

calf raise 5 x 20
seated calf raise 5 x 15

45 seconds between sets
drenched in sweat

now home for roast chicken, mexican rice, corn and greens

then a double protein shake, some fruit and yoghurt then hopefully a 12 hour sleep!

condition is improving a load, abs coming through and obliques startiing to come through nicely and face thinning out. scale showing the same weight so all good. if I drop another 7 lbs of fat over the coming 7 wseeks while my lifts improve it will have been a great 6 months back. consistency turning up eating right and getting the rest have been key for me. that and ingoring the parasite on this site as anything other than a figure of fun and derision.

I am taking 6 weeks off from lifting due to a Hernia surgery and Dr orders. I still went surfing today. I was probably in the water about an hour paddling. Again not even being a dick you are doing too much you don't need advanced lifting techniques to go beyond failure at 50 after 4 months of training.

brian my new training philosophy is what would brian think? then do the opposite. Its working well for me and I am genuinely happy. I check my temp each day (this has historically been the first sign i get of overtraining) and all is in check. This and my appettite are my key personal markers along with sleep pattern to determine how hard to push. next week will be a foot off the gas a little for 2 weeks then back on for 6

Everyone is upset I didn't respond to Ro post so here it is. Condition and vascularity look great as does size. Only fault I can find is you are making a bit of a face in the first pic but I do as well and worse so whatever physique wise you are killing it. Share some workouts with your pics

Leg Ext Rest-Pause sets - 8 sets
Leg Curls (lying) - 8 sets (Nice and light as lower-back comes into play, therapeutic blood-flow)
Rotary-Calf (only did 4 sets as some douche-nozzle parked himself near me and was talking to the side of my head as I wear sound-block ear-phones)
Smith-SQ (baby weight, 10-lb a side) 8 sets mainly for the light stretch/movement.
Dips - 4 sets



Assembling my new Shoulder machine today, gym is officially full... No room for anything else...

DB Laterals - 3 Triple-Drop sets to failure with all 3 sets of bells
Face-Pulls - 5 X 25,12,10,12,20

Lying Plate Neck Raise- 5 X various reps/poundages.....first and last set no weight

Leg Press Calf Raise - 6 X failure (plus holds and stretches with plenty of burning half reps when full reps could no longer be performed)

Great workout.........coming back from that 5 years of inactivity like I never even stopped training.

Training,eating,and resting like it`s my fucking job.

Arms

Close grip bench (used slingshot) - 4 sets of 3 w/ 315. Felt good. (Took shoulder 15 months, finally (almost) healed (95%).
JM Press - 4 sets of 3 w/ 225
D-Bell Skull Crushers - 4 sets
Dips - 4 sets

Preacher Curls - 4 sets
Seated D-bell curls - 4 sets
Wrist curls - 4 sets

Lower back also felt great (stable leg brace when benching can affect back if injured).
Going to lighten my weights used I think moving FWD,and change some things up.
Need to listen to the signs... (injury)

Couple folks have asked "whats a JM Press". A cross between a close grip bench, and skull-crusher. (Named after Powerlifter JM Blakely who sort of made the lift popular in PL circles).

Bent over Barbell row w 225 x 10
30 sec air bike
Heavy Sled rows w 13 plates
30 sec air bike
5 pull ups + 10 hanging leg raises
30 sec air bike
20 med ball sit ups
30 sec air bike
10 x tire flip w 300lb tire

30 min - slow walk on tread mill to cool down
