By holding the bar when you deadlift, you are activating and using all of the shoulder girdle as you lift and when you reach peak contraction and you should be holding a few hundred pounds more than you can press. Not to mention the strength gains in the back and core to help support the weight overhead. Tons of reasons to deadlift when it comes to strength related training. Also cleans will boost your shoulder strength as well.

power cleans are an awesome exercise

good for athletism as they make you more explosive and make you jump higher and can increase punching power 8) 8) 8)

i think i'll do them once this fucking injury finally seals

my quad injury came back from those deads i did last week

the fucking wound still isn't sealed yet, still slightly open so i can train legs til isn't completley sealed and closed

FUCK!!!

thought gear healed injuries faster ???

Just did the weighted pullups and got 4 reps with 25 pounds round my waist not too bad for a Start

Gonna take a 10 minutes break and then do some hang cleans

Can't use my legs yet don't want to reopen this goddamn wound

That's debatable as well - does Jeff train to failure all the time?  Krank?  Wes?  SC?

Does some magic chemical get released at failure, as opposed to one rep before?
I train hard but I almost always keep a little gas in the tank.

If I`m shooting for 10 reps I make it tough, but if I went ballistic I could probably squeeze out 2 more reps which I sometimes do,but more than often I don`t do this.

I used to over train in a huge way,leaving a bit in the tank is a good thing as long as you are still training hard.....just my opinion.

Also  resting less between sets makes you use less weight but is a really hard way to train..........also, and most importantly,I go by how I feel at any given workout.

If you trained to complete failure all the time you would soon lose interest in your training due to a  lack of recovery......you only progress when you eat and rest.

I like high-rep deadlifts, I feel it in my lats (nh) a lot more than lower reps.

Smith Inclines - 5 X 12 (constant weight....60 second rest periods)
DB Flyes - 4 X 15,12,10,10
Seated Bench Press Machine - 3 X 12,10,8
Dips - 1 X failure (with bodyweight)

Tri-Set:
{Crunches - 2 sets
{Lying Leg Raises- 2 sets
{Roman-Chair Situps- 2 sets

Good workout!!

I normally do back after chest but I`m gonna` train 5 days a week as opposed to my usual 4 days.........need to get busy as T-Shirt month....aka May, is on the horizon.

Also gonna start training abs more often as well as calves, and soon I can lay butt ass naked in the field in back of my house to get a golden tan..............I`m gonna drop down to around 185 pounds or so for  the summer......gonna` look like  a 68 year old god amongst men.

i have nothing else to do so i train twice a day

have and interview tomorrow maybe they will actually fucking hire me but the only pay 4-5 bucks an hour :-\

i usually make 8-10 an hour thats standard rate here

DJ,once you hit a bodypart, unless you train with pink dumbells, it`s just plain fucking dumb to hit it again on the same day,or even the next day.

You only  grow at rest........you should know this dude......if you have too much time on your hands get a fucking job dude........stop being a leech.

You are  grossly overtraining and undereating and switching drug compounds as often as I change my underwear....... but whatever,do your thing...........you`d make far better gains if you didn`t do YOUR thing but as I said.....whatever!!

There is no Over 65 division you loser.

It`s either Over 60 or Over 70.....why would I give some guys  a 9 year time advantage,I`ll be 69 this June........those Over 60  guys would smoke your ass,trust me.

This shit doesn`t get easier as you get older,if you live long enough and still train "lift",you`ll find that out.

Besides,you entered a class deceptively with no one else even in it.....wearing lead boots......and you have the balls to cry about me waiting a year and a half to compete  in the correct division?

I send in the entry form like anyone else does, not knowing if there is 50 guys or one guy in my class.......unlike you I don`t call the contest promoter and ask how many guys are in my class.......you fucking putz!
