One of the most impressive things ive ever seen is the scene in Pumping Iron where Franco starts laughing with 315 on his chest, then racks it like its nothing. Scary power.

Stan is in the mix, unquestionable. Bertil Fox at 230lbs was crazy strong. Tom Prince was supposedly a power mutant at his peak, i guess Chick would know that better than anyone.

Apparently, yes.

Im putting this dude on the list. Chris Cormier said that he witnessed Mike Quinn using 500LB on Barbell Rows. I believe Cormier said it was 10 reps with decent form.

So, my list is:

Ronnie, Francois, Levrone, Quinn, Cormier

Johnnie Jackson?

He can deadlift a shitload but it seems like Branch out-lifts him most of the time in their videos.

Strongest at lifting what has to be asked?

John Grimek lifted 11 1/2 pounds on the Weaver stick. If you can lift 5 pounds you are strong!

Ray Mentzer said he did two reps in the squat with 925 pounds.

Tom Platz did sets of 50 reps with 315 pounds.

Platz 315 for 50 reps?? ::)

Mentzer 925 squats for 2?? Hahaha

What a load of shit

Platz wouldn't be able to do 315 for 12. 50 reps?? ::)

I think that Menzter did partial squats in a power rack. The safety pins were set so high that his range of motion was 1 foot or less.

So in other words it doesn't count...

Guys we have seen so far that are legit strong

Ronnie, Cormier, Yates, levrone, prince, etc..

;D i think he could do it, he had crazy endurance when it came to heavy squatting, unlike anyone ive ever seen. Hit 1RM would have been ridiculous.

Samir Bannout claimed to be much stronger than Casey Viator and the Mentzers in the deadlift. I still think Bertil was a freak before freaks were a good thing.

It's #330. You can see the color coding on the handles 2 x #44(blue), 6 x #33(yellow).

Also -

I believe prime Platz could hit #315 for 50, especially gym reps.

.

Well, I hit a set of 31 (my all-time best) without drugs, so to imagine Platz could at one time nail 50 isn't too impossible. Not that the feat isn't amazing, because it most definitely is.

Here I am doing 25 after a monster bench-press session preceded by a six-hour car ride:

Who do you think makes up the top 5?

Not necessarily in this order, but here are 4:

Ronnie Coleman
Marko Savolainen
Eddie Moyzan
Eddie Robinson

Still trying to come up with # 5

Casey Viator
Bertil Fox
Franco Columbo
Kevin Levrone
Tim Belknap

And this video was the WBF's squat-off in the early '90s when Platz was FAR from his biggest and strongest.

Paul "Quadzilla" Demayo was up there as well.

It looks like Big Lou mis-timed his carb-up in 1993.
