Never heard of Benecol Spread before. What's it taste like? What kind of drinks did you have? I've been on Simvastatin since my late 30's. i'd like to get off it even though it successfully lowers my cholesterol and triglycerides.
Benecol is a brand over here in teh UK, not sure what its called elsewhere, they also do cholesterol reducing yoghurt drinks, although Im not sure why they cant take the active ingredients in the spread and make a tablet.
Its tastes like butter, Margarine.
I got a script for avastatin , not long after taking it I got shoulder and neck pain, I stopped and it went away, a few months later my doctor asked why I hadnt renewed my script, I told her why and she said "oh, forget it then it doesnt matter", begs the question why she gave it me in the first place.
The levels are set and if you exeed the levels the doc automatically gives you a script, I did some research and found out that the studies that decide the levels are funded by teh pharma companies, so it is good business to have the cut of low.
