Title: John Edwards Campaign Ad
Post by: Dos Equis on November 13, 2007, 10:00:21 AM
This might just cause you to rethink your support for John Edwards.  I'd like to take credit for finding this, but it was sent to me an anonymous poster.   :)

That links to Old Nation but I found the video.  Holy crap, that's stupid and counter to every republican/conservative I've heard.  They always argue for the luxery.  I can't believe the kid had issue with a 4000.00 manicure!  What the hell is his mother charging 4000.00 for?!?!...  Well good for her I guess... If people are paying it, that must be her price!  The kid is going to have a good life, but here he is, bitching that people will pay for her services?  Is he saying what his mother does isn't worth the price she charges?  BWHAHAHhahahahahhaa...  He just swifted his family too!  The air conditioner?  How big is his home?  How many homes that size have multipe smaller air conditioners that together use more electricity...  ya... swift boat is what this is... pathetic...

you know the ad was a gag right?

It might be funny but using the kids to lie about him just makes it creepy

I didn't :D  It seemed silly, but I've seen so many ads that are beyond stupid, silly and untruthful I didn't doubt some idiot did this...

I wonder if BB knew this was a joke.  From his original post it seems like he also thought it was authentic

No Bum - what they said was NOT TRUE

Edwards did not pay 4000 for a manicure and he does not have a 26,000 square foot air conditioner.  Jesus Christ man have you ever been inside a 10,000 square foot house.

BTW - the entire site is a gag

It must suck to not have a sense of humor.  How do you get through the day man?  Do you ever laugh?  Smile?  Try it sometime.  Good for soul.

You might want to start slowly, perhaps with something like this:

Bum - I laugh all the time but I'm still waiting for you to say something funny.

If you truly thought that this joke ad was authentic or that the contents (although a joke) were factual then you are a box of rocks (something I've long suspected but still always tried to give you the benefit of doubt)

If you were joking when you wrote:

The kids were gag, but I think what they said was true.

then I guess the subtly of your humor just doesn't come across that well in the written word

Liar.  You probably go though the entire day without laughing.  I don't know you, but on this board you are absolutely humorless.  That's not a criticism, just an observation.  I know plenty of people who don't laugh much.

Now go get the joke book and start practicing.

Bum - your  opinion about my sense of humor aside - it doesn't change the fact that you first thought this ad was real and then thought that the content was factual

Seriously dude - you're a little slow on the uptake

Bum - all I've done is point out your errors (politely at first - have you noticed I usually try to be polite first?)

You're the one with your knickers in a knot.

Hey even that's an improvement.  You learn fast grasshopper.

Now that we have made progress on the humor front, try and follow the topic, rather than attempting to redirect the focus to people posting in the topic.

you're kidding right? - you're the one who derailed the thread with the "sense of humor" nonsense.

I'll be glad to get back on topic

Why did you think this ad was real?

After realizing that the ad was fake why did you still think the content was factual?

Oh right - we're all supposed to pretend that you knew all along and then later that your comment was some kind of joke?

The kids were gag, but I think what they said was true

whatever you say Bum

[sigh]  Regression.  No, Straw Man, the topic of the thread is a John Edwards parody, not Beach Bum.   ::)  One step forward, two steps backward.

Now at least say something funny so I don't feel like today's lesson is a total loss.

Bum I don't take order's from you or anyone.

If you thought it was a parody they why didn't you say so in your original post?

Who would "re-think" their support of Edwards over a parody?

Whatever you say Beach Bum - I don't think anyone here is buying your story - well maybe your nutsucker alter ego believes it

Listen Forrest Gump, the link was provided as a parody.  I think everyone who looks at it realizes it was a joke.  You are the only zombie who posted about the use of kids being creepy.  It's obvious the use of kids of was an attempt at humor.  The things they talked about were probably true (haircut, manicure, etc.) but were likely embellished.

Now, if you weren't a member of the walking dead, you would have clicked on the link and laughed like most other people, instead of getting creeeped out.

It must suck to be you dude.  Put a smile on mang.  And that's an order.

Here's some serious advice for you:
