Did anyone caliper him prior to this event? Was the measurement any kind of record? I wonder if Billy Smith was involved and if it might have taken place at a Gold's, maybe even at the Venice Gold's. Somebody please help me answer these burning questions.
His abs got worse as he got older.Lower lats had a weird look to them.Lazy.Wouldn't do deadlifts so no quality X-Mas tree, no deep lumbar definition, fat ass and weak hams most of the time.Oh, and the calves are faker than fake.
He was even better 2 weeks later at the Arnold. Start at 15:32
Are you sure about that, Earl? Both of us prefer Kev's physique to Ronnie's, but I always thought of you as someone who understood why Ronnie won - even if you disagree with some of those wins. I don't think you are under the impression that Kev should have 6-9 Sandows, even though you think his physique is "better" [for all intents and purposes, aside from the Olympia stage] than the physiques of either Ronnie or Dorian.Likewise, Flex Wheeler's shape and aesthetics were amazing - as he was a literal cartoon character come to life - but do you really feel that he had the muscularity, hardness, and overall conditioning necessary to beat Heath in any of his seven Mr. Olympia wins? I would say that Phil is harder, leaner/more conditioned, as well as having more mass on his frame. Flex was something like 5'11 and 220-lb, whereas Phil is, what, 250-lb at 5'9? That is a considerable advantage in overall level of muscle mass for Phil, despite not being as shapely as Flex - and it's not like Phil is a slouch in the shape and roundness department either, despite having narrow clavicles [something which I think is amplified by his larger than average head size], and - of course - not being as shapely as Flex, as said above.PS - while I have always understood the comments that Phil is narrow by pro bodybuilding or Mr. Olympia standards [despite his head size not often being mentioned as a contributing factor], I have never understood why people say that Kev was narrow. On that note, I think part of the reason why Flex Wheeler looked wide was for the same reason why Phil looked a bit more narrow than he likely actually is - head size. In the case of Flex Wheeler, I think his head is small, and makes him look wider. Orville Burke definitely had a small head which made him look wide.
Everyone is better than Heath.
'93 or '98?
Flex

You nailed it. I wonder if Jim Quinn was involved?
I still think that the 1993 Arnold was his best ever. He looked his best in the 216-218 range
I thought it was Jim Quinn. Either way, it was 0.0%...
Not bad post-accident.
