If so, how did you get started?  With negatives?

When I was 210ish I could knock out 2-3 one arm chins. Now I just tried it at 230 and could only get 1/2 a rep :(.

While negatives helped, I found adding isometric stops to regular chin-ups helped my chin up strength the most. Basically, I'd cut a chin up rep into 3 segments(bottom-middle-top), at each stop/segment I'd tense and hold for a few seconds.

Once those became easy, I found it was easy to transition into one-armed chin-ups.

I don't think anyone in the history of getbig can do a one arm chin up, in my life I've only seen one guy 115 pound gynest from Korea, anybody that claims needs to prove it and BTW your second hand can't hold on to your arm, it has to be on your side, or else anyone can that.

Statistically speaking, very few can do it.

You just made my day.  I'm 200lbs and thought I was too heavy.  I'm starting work on that asap.

I can do sets of 6-8 with them.
The variation I use isn't 100% one-arm chin-ups, as I wrap my non-working arm around the hand holding the bar.

This counts as two arm chin

Never really said it was a true one arm did I? ;)

As strong as you are, with your YouTube clips, can you even do ONE chin-up as I do it for 6?

Who said I was angry?
All I did was ask if you can do one.
As far as chin-ups, traditional style as you see everyone else do, I can do 12-15 from a dead hang between each rep.
Then again, maybe I come off as mad by posting that too? ::)

I can do 12-15 dead hang chins, with good form and zero jerking.
I can do sets of 8 with the one hand chin, non-working arm grabbing my working wrist, for (right now) 3 sets.
All clarified now, I guess. :P
