Title: Chris Cormier's Future
Post by: Ex Coelis on May 10, 2006, 08:11:08 AM
The Real Deal is running out of time to win the Olympia. We all know it and so does he. At 38 and with 70 pro shows under his belt, he's gotta put up or pack it in. In his new column in MD, he talked about his competitive future.

"Starting in early May, I'll be living in England and training every day for the Olympia with Dorian [Yates] as my training partner. I knew he was serious when he looked me dead in the eye and said 'I'm going to kick our fucking ass, you know.' I have no doubt in my mind he will, too. By doing this, his reputation is on the line and he won't let me ruin it by looking anything less than my all-time best this September at the 0."

Pretty exciting stuff. Of course he still needs to qualify so I imagine we will in fact see him beofre the O, likely in the Capitol City, along with the Big Ruhl. This could be Cormier's year - he definetly means business this time. I hope everything goes well.

Could be interesting.
However, he is getting 'old man skin', which may be the death of him.

Personally, I think that Cormier has a career that is up there amongst the greats, however the potential question keeps poppin up, but regardless he did compete in one of the most competetive eras ever.. If he feels he has the drive to push himself with the help of Dorian then GOD BLESS HIM!!
Good Luck Chris!!!

TITUS ALSO TRAINED WITH YATES, AND WHAT HAPPENED  TO HIS PLACINGS !

DORIAN CAN TRAIN HIMSELF . BUT TO TRAIN OTHERS ,,,,,I DON'T THINK SO!

Wouldn't you say that Shawn's record in the Olympia and the IFBB are better than Chris's with the exception of number of contests in which he has competed.
Chirs did more shows and had more erroneous placings...(sort of..) Shawn did a lot less shows during his career..both are top teir all time IMHO... just they went about thier competing diffrently..

Yates NEVER trained Titus.  He wouldn't bother.  He "coached" him on a couple of prep issues - that's it.

I think the best thing Dorian can do for Cormier at this point is to take away his cell phone and give him no access to a cell phone so he cant try to romance and juggle his bitches/ho's.

Cormier could be in the 3 or 4 this year at the 'O' if he just loses the cell phone.

Cormier is def an all time great he's symetrical, aesthetic, big (250+), detailed, solid all around and he can pose with the best of them. If anyone has a chance to make anykind of impact on the olympia this year it's CC, he already has all the tools and just needs to polish himself up and he will blow everyone away.

Very impressive comeback. You're such a douche. Just because your work involves being on the internet all day doesn't make you the ambassador for every topic of discussion on here. You have waayyyyytoo much time on your hands, dude. Stop bragging about your level of education, your various real estate purchases, and stop posting pathetic pictures of yourself.

Your comments to every topic discussed on Getbig are not quick-witted, not smartly quiped, and certainly not cutting edge. you're not as cool as you think you are and you'd be doing everyone a favor on here if you just took a long, relaxed break from this internet site.

Now go invest your time in a last word, end all be all, worthless comeback. Take your $300 website and shove it up your muscle worshipping, homo ass.

dick.....

I was in Helsinki when Yates won his first title. I've followed body building from 1992 to about 2002. The old brigade of Nasser, Shawn, Flex, Paul, JP Fux, Cotrell and the great Yates all retired by then and the ass clowns took over. I've pretty much stopped now. And Cormier will still never win a worthwile show. In fact, has he ever won anything other than the four 10 grand a pop Ironman shows? And I'm not talking about the 1997 (or was it 1998?? cant remember) NOC 10 grand title.

Jack of some trades, master of none. Cormier was never great to begin with, but still has some hangers-on who propogate the misguided notion that somehow he's close. Never was; even in terms of aesthetics he was never exceptional.

Mediocre, yes.

Most BORING physique? Definitely! *yawn*

Hey, same here! I usually won't respond to spunk bubbles but damn, since it's a day of exceptions, lets make one.

No, I don't remember 1999. I know the sun came up, Ronnie won, the sun went down, and some "bodybuilders" cried for months all over the pages of Flex and Musclemag with idiots releshing every word. I remember Cormier as an AVERage bbuilder from the old brigade that was strong as fuck. I saw him in a seminar in Portsmouth, UK in 1999 and I swear there were local bodybuilders that was bigger, and retarded people (perhaps a bit like you) with better personality. And hey, he still has no back, no arms and no hope of winning something worthwile. Perhaps Yates can sort him out, God knows, at 38 he needs all the help he can get.

As for what happend in 2002? I decided that a decade of reading "10 ways to kick start growth","a guide to monster pecs","Try this for HUGE quads", month after month was probably enough.

Hey, it's good to see that you are still easily entertained.

It doesn't matter "Who" you train with but how HARD when you train!
Our boy had a great career on the Pro stage but come Mr. Olympia time, he was a promise never kept. :-\

And talk is cheap, remember Mike Tyson, they were the same age talking like this. ::)

Exactly.
SOme of you guys dont realize- when posting pics of Chris in his prime, it means nothing. It happens to all of us. As we get older, we become different physiologically, and you cant say "well if he does this again"..

Chris has been in the game for a while, Its just decline time. I saw him at the Mr O expo, and you can just see it.  I couldnt beleive he was competing the next day  :-\

I saw you there Shawn, I wante dto say whats up but there was a crowd. Would you know who I was If I said "Yo Whats up shawn, this is Heracles!" Levrone rememberd me..it was pretty cool!  :)

Back to Chris, we shall see.

CC was goin through shit before the O and knew he wouldn't be 100% :-\ But he still has the size and structure he's always had, he just needs that movitvation and i think dorian cold def help him getting focused for the O.

Good luck trying to beat Big Ron! as long as Big Ron is still active in Mr O, no one can beat em.. Chris better try to place runner up, at least!  I don't think he needs to have Dorian as a trainer, he was doing fine before... maybe he needs to psych himself mentally and get back to his own flawless regimen that got him a ironman.

Best of luck to Chris anyways and the rest of the competitors!

If Dorian can instill his work ethic into cormier then he should be top three.

The only thing that will beat Coleman is time.

To say Cormier isnt a top bodybuilder is ridiculous

As I said, Dorian is all talk and trying to pretend to be this magical guru to say that one year of "training" with him will turn Chris Cormier into Mr. Olympia.

First of all, NOTHING will turn Chris into Mr. Olympia or get him even close to Ronnie's level in ONE year.

Further, TRAINING has nothing to do with it!!  If Dorian said he will spend one year encouraging Chris to up his drug use to catch up to Ronnie - well - that would be a more realistic statement.

Bodybuilding is drugs and of course nutrition too - NOT training.  Dorian is intelligent and he should know this.  Maybe he just wants to sell guides for HIT training or something.

I admit that you must train to be Mr. Olympia, but the main considerations are drug usage and food intake with training not being nearly as important as those two factors.
what do you know. have you ever used any?

IMO, drugs seem to play a huge part in making the most out of potential.  And it seems some of the guys, when they quit juicing, also quit eating and training right too.  They'd still outshine your average obese American with their shirt off, but they lose the size and hardness that comes with hitting the gym 5 times a week.   Plus, pics can be deceiving.  I betcha in person, an untrained Titus is still a pretty imposing presence in a room.

I competed last may and after the show i was beat and stopped all training and ate 2-3 times a day of whatever. I didnt touch another drug or weight until january 06...over 8 months bascially. Smallest i got was 219, i was soft of course but still had retained alot. So i would imagine a pro could do even better then me. I been training hard since march and im back to about 235 10% and still clean.

It wasnt that...he injury stems from his chronic cellphone use...I heard he was in the middle of a set of heavy squats when his cell phone went off...you know, usual hip/hop ring tone 'meet me in the club...its going down meet me in the mall its going down...'  so what happend was he didnt bother racking the weight he just took off running across the gym with the weight still on his back...so when he bent over to pick the phone up...I guess he tweaked something somewhere so he's all laid up now. Saddest thing was he missed the call because he gets free call me minutes so he had to call the ho back so it cost HIM and not her...
