Nice.

As luck would have it, little league ends next week and I got asked to be on a team that lost a player due to an injury.

The streak continues.

Season way over. Played ok. Fielding solid; hr here, there; ob real good. Happy, but not knocked out by stats. End-of-season-tourney? I did not suck. 2-3 hrs/game; running and getting shit that was all in some other's backyard. pretty sure i have cancer, or something, for that super-stuff nonsense.  sat, and enjoyed all the plaudits at the bbq, but gave away the mvp thingy to someone who tried hard but stood in and took hard rooks off the infield. he'll be aces in 5 years. hope you all had a good season.   :)

Season started last nigh but I stunk 1-3 with 3 popups.
Lunging and swinging at pitches out of the strike zone.

We started our season last night and were short players.  >:(
We tied the other team which is still pretty good.
Didn't hit very well. I accidentally bought a hard ball bat and wasn't able to use it.

Any Canadian softball players on here that know where to get decent bats? I'm looking online and most of the decent American distributors won't ship to Canada.
Amazon.ca are asking ridiculous prices.  >:(

I may have a better solution. I just found out that a co-worker orders a lot of car parts from the US and has a PO box across the border. I might be able to order any bat that I want. Any suggestions?
I was thinking a 30 oz, end loaded composite. I only want to pay between $200-$260 Canadian, which is about $150-$200 US. Seems like there are lots of options.

Batspeed is key.

Opt for a 26-27 oz Miken if your league allows it.

Bats must be approved by either the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), National Softball Association (NSA) or American Softball Association (ASA).
Most of the bats I've looked at have at least one of these approvals.

It's probably good.  You can read reviews here:

https://www.kellysultimatesports.com/Slowpitch-Softball-Reviews/

30 oz is a bit heavy, IMO.

Ill let you know. I probably wont get for a few weeks. We have a few lighter bats for the team so I will have options.

I havent received my new bat yet but we had a game last night.
We were the visiting team and I went up to bat first.
On the first pitch I cracked a home run over the fence.
A new guy on my team asked 1. Why do you need a new bat?  2. Why are you batting first?  ;D

The last bat I bought, an Anderson, I got a friend to mule it for me. Go to a tourney, there's usually a shady looking guy with a trunkfull of boxed bats, if you don't mind paying a twenty for his effort. Or, buy him a beer and start a convo. Good luck.

Ha! I remember a couple of years ago being at second and seeing a grounder go to my right and thinking 'I should run.' Was still there when the guy from first showed up. Just walked back to the bench and shrugged.

We are 4-0 so far
2-4 with a double and single.when I sit back and wait on the ball I hit very well.every out I've made this year I lunged instead of waiting for the ball to get to me.

That is key - waiting and not committing your weight forward.

Unless you're able to keep you hands back and place it.

Got smoked by one of the best teams in the city.
2-3,two singles, can't complain I hit all the ball hard every time and the out the left fielder made a nice running catch in the gap.
Against a lot of other teams it's a standup up double but these guys were good.

Team doing ok. Me, fine. Old and in RF, still: stats ok. OB% fine but no power - kinda like last year at this point. Think I am hitching/no backsweep on my swings.  ::)

Team still ok. No contender, again, this year. Fielding is totally solid, even infield stints, but batting blinking in and out. Getting on base nicely, usually through hits, fa(s)t running and opposing errors, but it's starting to get into my head. No worries; not going to HOF. The one thing I have noticed this year is the proliferation of super bats. Man. We have (young) guys on our team with, like, $2k's worth of bats!? I just nod and smile and tune out as they try to explain them. Kinda satisfying when you snap an out offa one of those bats, but also kinda neat when see one of those balls sail over your head and demo a windshield.

Lost again.
0-3 in the five spot. 2 out of three were hit real solid just right at people.
