It's true. There are no new discoveries - only rediscoveries and self revelations of age old ideas, concepts and philosophies.

Take any religious book and you'll find a world of wisdom and humanity.

In terms of 2012 discoveries, leading textual critic and Christian Dan Wallace presented the discovery of various 2nd century manuscripts of NT books and the discovery of a 1st copy manuscript fragment of the gospel of Mark.  The publication of the finding are supposed to released through publisher E.J. Brill sometime this year.  A first century copy of Mark may be an enormous find depending on the content.

I’ve personally been waiting to read and understand these finding for 18 months now.

There have also been more biblical archeological finds in 2012 and 2013 that validate passages of the OT and NT.   I'd have to Google the finds since I don't have this info at my fingertips.

No. They suggest evidence for, not validate. Let's not conflate science and religion.

I find it amusing to point how perpetually stupid the religious are and how they contribute absolutely nothing to society because of their religion.  Religion still has a large stranglehold on society and culture, particularly in the Middle East.  No good comes from any religion.

Such an absolute statement is a mark of intelligence. Surety reminiscent of a Hebrew street preacher or Wahabi Imam.

You are a dunce without your cutting and pasting skills.  Atheists' belief is the absence of belief in God.  Now go cut and paste something else you mamaluke.

No, it is the absence of belief, any belief. You clearly cannot fathom people who do not cling to anything, and thus reason that, if one does not believe A, then one must believe B. But it really is possible (and preferable) to not believe anything. If atheism was a belief, then people would stick to it no matter what, in total irrational delusion. An atheist can be easily convinced that he's been wrong. Just show me an actual miracle (not something that happens merely by chance) and I will instantly change my mind.

But show me a convincing argument first. If tomorrow a copy of earth appears where the moon is, and it has the face of jesus on it, I'll instantly be on my knees. Until then I'm not going to entertain the thought of even the possibility of something that goes against all logic and science.

Atheism doesn't require proof, it is the default state of thought: what the shape of god is isn't a question I ask myself, as I have seen nothing to indicate that there is something to choose from.

You mean the absolute certainty of 'god must exist'? ::)

That's a good point, but how many religious people do the same thing?

You are assuming people are desperately looking for something to believe in. Apart from those who fall for larger or smaller cults, this just isn't the case. I personally also do not want to develop a belief system. Why would I? Should I find something I don't believe in, and lie to myself to start believing that?

The reason TA is so adamant that life has no purpose is because his own life has none. He lives off the success of others, spoiled and obviously extremely bored.

No need to be floored.  I understand the history of Christianity.  Simply put, the Catholic church deviated completely from it's foundations in Christ and the apostles and became consumed with money, power and their own created theology. The Christian church was founded in and around Rome and lead by the early papacy, but deplorable papal leaders slowly infected the church and the church's theology was slowly morphed away from the ideals of grace through faith that were establisehd by Christ.

The Christian church became the Catholic church.....many Christians thereby adopted Catholicism and became Catholics.  This led us to the Reformation in the church which helped reestablish the foundations of the initial Christian church and the ideals of grace through faith and the upholding of the notion that works are but filthy rags to the Lord.  The Roman Catholic today exists in it's perverted form still; hence, we have Catholics and Christians that are not the same.  The is by no means an exhaustive reply on the subject, simply a high level overview.

Forgive me, but my family is waiting for me.

Have a good evening!!
