That's a shame... We should definitely be providing a lot more mental services to our returning troops... They things they've seen and had to deal with, without a clear enemy it makes it so very difficult.

When our troops can determine right and wrong and they can truly see they are "right", it makes their mental state so much healthier.

All this stuff would have a point if it wasn't a VOLUNTEER army. No one forces anyone to enlist. It's entirely shocking that people join the military to be soldiers and end up, you know, going to war.

This is true... they do not force you to enlist, but if you get in and you really don't like it, or you take issue with some of the decisions, there's not a real "out clause" you know.

I'm pretty sure most people are aware that they're enlisting for a set number of years and that at any point they could end up in combat.

Whats her name...MOS/unit......for every trigger puller there are 20 of her that never leave the FOB or see an shot fired in action ever. As for the suicides....we go through BS classes, had one this past week. We get seen when we get home....most don't answer the questions correctly because of retribution that may or may not exist. I've see guys who after being blown up couldn't even count and developed sutters. Other people are fine. They are now doing a test prior to deployment that gives a baseline for mental acuity so if ur blown up they can see a change.

Back the the poster...less then 1% serve or have served in the military.....if a your engaging a vet, my default would be skeptic.

Do you understand how important oil is for the global economy, let alone the U.S. economy? Do you know what is liable to happen if imports from the M.E. are reduced significantly or if the transport of oil is disrupted (e.g., if the Strait of Hormuz is closed)? It's a big deal for a reason!

Neither Iraq under Saddam nor Iran right now would undertake that maneuver - it would be economic suicide.
