Solid, basic Priest. Hopefully the album is as well.I thought Angel of Retribution (2005) was good, but nothing from Nostradamus (2008) and Redeemer of Souls (2014) really grabbed me.
Can you name another band who got harder as they went on?Sure Priest went soft with Turbo but they turned around after thatMetallica..... after justiceMegadeth on n offMotley went soft after satd Scorpions got softer as they went onQueensryche tooArguably OzzyMaiden stayed about the same Celtic Frost Ac/dc went more commercialWho besides Priest got harder?
Bought this classic album a week ago.
Pantera
Dokken got harder.Back for the Attack was miles ahead of Breaking the Chains.
Ha ha, maybe. From the hair metal era, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Poison, etc, got all the attention. However, the musically superior bands were Ratt and Dokken.
George Lynch is a great guitarist. If I remember correctly, he got into bodybuilding for a while.
Warren Dimartini underrated guitarist.
DeMartini is in my all-time top 10. Unfortunately, his chops have gotten rusty as all hell in these recent years. Warren’s family is wealthy and the guy’s obviously kind of lackadaisal about his practice and recording. Outside of sporadic Ratt gigs (and very limited new releases), he doesn’t do anything. But when he’s on top of his game, like Lynch, dear fuck.
