Ever buy/try some gimmick supplement?
« on: May 19, 2006, 07:23:18 AM »
I sure hate to admit that I have wasted some $$$ doing this.
The biggest crap I have wasted my money was :
1. various prohormones (useless, but sounded so tempting "natural safe steroids " ::)
Kelly Ryan married well!  Free Titus!

You beat me to it; I was going to mention Cybergenics Phase I.

Actually, the weirdest supplement I've ever tired wasn't so much a gimmick in function as it was in form.

That would be Cybergenics' Infiniti 3000 weight gainer; that is, the so-called "Blueberry Cheesecake" flavored one. Cybergenics came out with a gourmet series of their gainer. There were nine (9) total, with some of the other flavors being:

- Strawberry Cheesecake
- Rum Raisin
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- Peanut Butter & Banana
- White Chocolate Mousse
- Mint Chocolate Chip
- Cinnamon Apple Pie

I can't remember the last one (I think it was Caramel...something or other)  But, I suppose those would count as "gimmicky".

I just thought of one I wanted to try, back in the day, but didn't. Does anyone remember those Weider Shock Treatment thingys, that came in red and blue plastic vials?

I thought the makers of Hot Stuff got in a little hot water, because they referred to their product as an "Anabolic Activator". They later called it a "Fitness Potentiator", whatever the heck that is.

I liked Hot Stuff, personally.

Another "gimmick" I tried was (because someone gave them to me) was those Weider Weight-gainer Chewables. The concept wasn't so bad, but you had to eat a zillion of them to get an ample amount of calories.

Lee Haney's Mass Fuel Kit was fairly good.....except for them Mass Fuel bars: YYYYYYUUUUUUUCKKKKKK!!!

Imagine a alleged chocolate bar, that's the size of an eraser and taste like baker's chocolate, mixed with sand.

Though I haven't used any...  Anything that comes in a topical spray is surely a gimmick.  Great absorption I'm sure...
