That is when I mentioned (as I'd done years prior) that the biggest and strongest I have been happen to be at age 32, back in 2005. That's when I was over 250 lbs (though hardly "ripped" at that weight) and that's when, for the first time in my life, my bench press exceeded the 400-lb mark (405, to be exact, on Sept. 1, 2005; this was after hitting 400 even on Aug. 29, just a few days earlier).

That's the truth. Whether you believe that or not is your own affair; it makes no difference to me.

We have a genetic freak here gents...

You continue to take shots at me, in order to hide from the fact that your whining and self-pitying have done more to hamper your results than your circumstances.

You will recall that, the last time you did this, several posters took you to task on it. They further stated that what I'd done was good in its own right (especially for my own personal achievement), it was hardly out of the ordinary and certainly not outside the realms of possibility.

Plus, few here would consider a guy, whose max bench didn't exceed 400, UNTIL AGE 32 as a "genetic freak".

But, never let the facts stand in the way of a good "nobody-knows-the-trouble-I-see" pity party. Would you like a gallon of ice cream to go along with your sackcloth and ashes?

I think impressive is a good enough word.

Not mesmorizing or anything like that...but certainly impressive.

I think 365 is an impressive lift as well.

The point of that would be what? Others have posted pics. Yet, the excuses and bellyaching CONTINUE to spew from your lips.

Ben and Jerry's or Breyers?

Thanks!! One of my goals is to replicate that feat, this time sans the 40+ inch waist I had.

The other is to get the arms back, with an actual tricep and bicep.

 ;D

I don't weigh 250 anymore and haven't since 2005. And, as stated before, it doens't matter.

My not posting my pics doesn't erase your pathetic excuse-making for your lack of results. Every year (at least) you come up with something that's holding you back: Age, genetics, location, job, social status, etc.

What's it going to be next month, or six months from now, or next year?

Rocky Road or French Vanilla?

Did you or did you NOT start a thread, wailing about your ability to reach your bodybuilding goals going south, after you turned 30?

Did you or did you NOT start a thread, crying about how your parents gave you the shaft on the genetics thing?

Your excuses are well-documented. And, until you cease with them and get down to the business at hand, your wading in the pity waters will continue.

Butter Pecan or Chocolate Mint?

I did get the shaft and all appearances to the contrary I know I work hard in the gym and get enough protein in. And yes, it is genetics that explains why my bench is so weak, especially compared to other exercises.

Define "enough" protein.

As for your bench, you may need to work on your supporting muscles and there may be an issue as to HOW you bench press (i.e. where the bar lands on your chest, or as Charles Glass puts it, the "bodybuilding style" vs. the "powerlifting style").

AT LEAST 2 grams per kg of body weight, usually more. I use a wide grip.
