No one with half a brain really buys into the "bodybuilding dream". The smart ones use BBing as a vehicle for success in other areas. Modeling, endorsements, etc. Or as a side thing, like Jack London, who earns more from portfolio mgmt in a year than most top IFBB guys make in a decade.
BBing is a very unhealthy and biased sport, and basing your life on it is setting yourself up for a major letdown. It's a great supplemental thing- but making it #1 is a horrible move.

He can't be 100% at work, at school, at home, etc. He's taking risks he doesn't now. He's using time, money, and other resources that could be going in directions more likely to pay off in the long run.
If anyone here has ever sat thru a wife's pregnancy while on a precontest diet, please share your tales. It has to suck.

Not all dreams are realized. He has one child, which makes me think what he's already been through puts BBing in perspective. If he had to tell us right now what his *dreams/aspirations* are, I'm guessing the first 10 things out his mouth would involve family/career/longterm success.
I mean, I love to see the feelgood stories come true. But drying out for a show could take 20 years life off those kidneys. Getting busted picking up test/deca for the show could be a lengthy trial/short sentence. IMO, going "all out to win nationals" for shows is something that crazy 25-year olds should do. Any man who is 35+ with a family and a set of responsibilities that does it is seriously unbalanced.
IMO, Jorge has the most capital/worth from the fact that he had so much potential and still *could* do it. He'd only lose by making a comeback. He does need a stronger online presence to make the most from his endorsement package. He does need a more visible website and recognizability among today's youth in order to command more $ the next time he sits down to negotiate with his company.
He just needs the right guy to help him out ;)

Post a simple insult (sparking the fire).

Wait for an even larger wave of challenging posts.
Toss in a quick post or two kissing the ass of the initial person he insulted to give balance (or a quick shift in thread tone depending on the direction the topic takes) to his arguement (adds a hint of confusion).

Without a doubt, Rob's a definite candidate....he has my support. Honestly, I was in a really bad mood while filming the video..I had just finish doing the Southern States and the last thing I wanted to do was diet for a few more weeks. Also, the first day of the shoot I almost ripped my pec while warming up with 135. So I decided to lift light through the rest of the shoot..

I have no Idea.. I think it was the weather change from Miami to Cali...Maybe it was 185..
I was very strong when I was a kid.. I did a 485 at 192 at 20....Then I tore it with 225 and got operated..

Just like I mentioned earlier..............the IFBB should change their judging criteria if they do not want professional bodybuilding to eventually fade into oblivion. Guys like Dugdale, Betancourt, Jones are much more marketable than the 275-300lb freaks. Not only are their physiques more marketable, they seem to have their heads on straight too. Dugdale is a successful businessman and father of 3........and ACTS LIKE ONE. Jose seems to be doing the same. I believe Richard Jones is in school getting his MBA. Not only are they great bodybuilders, they seem to be good people as well. These guys represent bodybuilding well.

I think jorge looks fantastic , beautifull lines and balance , nice structure , I bet if you ran a survey out in the "real world' and got people to choose either jorges bod or ronnies bod on whom they would like to look like , jorge would come out tops by a mile !!!

I have it Coleman, Cutler and Dexter this year. They have to mix it up so Gustavo will be 4th. Martinez 5th and James 6th. Branch, Anthony, Charles, and Cormier should round out the top ten. Assuming of course that Gunter and Priest ditch the IFBB.

True enough, but do you really imagine DeMilia's shows under PDI (if they ever actually take place) will be so different from all those that he promoted under IFBB, for a couple decades or so, that they are going to be a blast?

I will laugh if a few IFBB guys cross over, start dominating shows, and the PDI becomes as predictable as the IFBB. They will either have to make it predictable, or screw people over.

i remember seeing these guys(and becoming freinds with them) training at the paradise gym in the gables that was over by the ford dealer. everyone was training for the 89 nationals that paradise was promoting.
i dont remember jiver's training partner, but i may start training with rick rosello soon.
