And representing Team Finland..... 3000m hurdles runner Keskisalo carried from the track in wheelchair 3 rounds before the finish line..... oh boy  ::)

I hope conclusions are made and tax payers money will be saved next time by decision not to send single athlete to Olympics.
If I could decide, they would be sent in Siberia for the next 4 years to train Rocky-style. Embarrassing shit.

At least he would look like mean motherfuker  ;D

Seriously. Sweden has medals, Norway has medals... Finland has none. Last hope lays in javelin throw, which is traditionally strong.
GO - One medal is not too much to ask from 55 athletes IMO !!!

But they're strong in winter sports, like ice hockey and biathlon, aren't they?

Men's #105 kg B Group -

Latvia out on top with a strong performance in the C/J.

The stronger lifters in A group are on in a few hours.

The Russian lifters may still show up, if one does it will probably Akkaev, as Klokov still seems to have problems. Klokov reportedly tore up his leg in training a bit, Akkaev claims back injury. Although there are rumblings that Russia is worried about the testing still and doesn't want to risk a life time ban for these two.

If the Russians do show up expect a war in that class maybe, if not Poland will most likely take the Gold.

Yes sure!
Ice hockey world champions last year  8)

But we used to be strong in summer games as well. Shot putters, jawelin throwers, even famous long distance runners, weight lifters etc.

Remember Paavo Nurmi. No one but American Phelps has more Olympic gold medals. Paavo had nine.
Insane man. Fell over at competition, stood back up and kept running - and won gold !!!! That's the Finnish spirit !
But they don't make men like those anymore.

I love Rocky 4, though it was brutal American propaganda at the high of the Cold war.

where the fuck are Akkaev and Klokov ? Without them, and since Dolega hasn't any valid snatch lift, the competition has lost all its interest.

Me = disappointed  >:(

Men's 105 -

Torokhtiy of the Ukraine gets Gold with S - #185 kgs  C/J - #227 kgs Total - #412 kgs.

Nasirshelal of Iran takes Silver with S - #184 kgs C/J - #227 kgs Total - #411 kgs.

Bonk of Poland takes Bronze with S - #190 kgs  C/J - #220 kgs Total - #410 kgs.

Russia didn't show up, but it was still an interesting class with a nice battle at the end.

It was bomb city with 3 major lifters failing to total. Korea failed on all three snatch attempts, Georgia failing on all 3 C/J attempts, and the surprise of the day, the favorite of the event with the Russians out, Marcin Dolega of Poland failing all 3 snatch attempts.

* Machavariani of Georgia, although he may of bombed out wins hairiest lifter with what looked to be a hair shirt under his singlet.

Even world champion, I didn't knew that. Just like water polo, which I played in the past, ice hockey is one of the coolest team sports I know.
I've never heard about Paavo Nurmi, and his Wiki page showed why, he died right after I was born (RIP - run in peace).
Anyways, good luck to Finland!

Ahh thank god we scored in extra time.

That little scamp Alex Morgan scored the winning goal.
