same spotter also, he did that with less effort than he did with 460. That's one strong dude - he's one of those thin types that you might lose a $100 bet to because you know by looking at him he can't hit over 360-370, we got this guy at my gym who's the same way - lean cut and strong as hell he can do military presses with 55kilo (121lb) dumbells for easy reps- no BS!!

Good as hell, but that thumbs-free grip with just fingertips touching the bar and NO chalk is pushing it a little he can't afford to let that much weight slip >:(
Plus he has no wrist raps or weight belt - that's what we call back-woods country strong!!

very correct..damn how can anyone do bench press with thumb free grips.i have tried to use this type grip but its impossible to do even one rep.i was trying this grip on the bench rod with no weight on the rod and it still slipped.

That's understandable when someone like you is still struggling with 135 for 2.

yeah anytime someone's hitting 315 i count off there reps (in my head of course) just to see where I sand ;)

what's a respectable 315 rep range anyway? just curious..a few boys in teh gym hit it for 8-10 no problem.  Last i tried i got it for 16 from my chest..but that's the only weight i can handle full range before my shoulder starts talking during a set. that was on a smith machine...i'm back up to 12 reps with it on the standard flat bench.

I usually view 8-10 CONTROLLED reps as respectable.

That guy should be in the NFL at some position, and doing powerlifting contests on the side.

Must be nice to lift that much weight at that small a size.

Bodybuilders could learn from him.

That is what we call "functional muscle".

It doesn't just sit there, it moves real weight.

A long time ago I saw couple dudes bench 550 for one rep after they both did sets of 10 with 405. The two dudes were Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson.
