with the look DJ has attained he's lost alot of things that I think BB should be about. he's got a big ole wasit on him, his seperation went out the window. He looks great in the gym but I like the late 80's early 90's kinda physique...kinda like Shawn Ray circa 94 or Labrada circa 88ish....

That's a bit surprising, since you got the Darrem physique going a bit yourself, with relatively big arms and a lean, ripped, physique.

i know.................... .id much rather be a "Mass Monster" tho
i never thought size would be a problem for me,i thought i would have real trouble trying to get "ripped"
i have been 270-300 lbs for 10 + years now
now all dieted down i see i need far more size and getting "ripped" isnt as impossible as i thought it was going to be

Bodybuilding is definitely a shorter mans game
( 5 ft 10 --------5 ft 11 " is ideal)

I bet bodybuilders in the Arnold's era had less if any complications from steroid usages. these days, those mass monster would love to see what they would look like when their career is over. Some probably won't live long enough to be Serge Nubret's age

Yup Mike, us midgets we rule superior in the bodybuilding arena and have to listen to 90% of the Taller guys blame it on their height the reason they cannot get a fuller physique...Its always entertaining though....LoL

no, this is a genetics game, you either have great genetics for building muscle, or not. of course the shorter guys can fill out more, so there are more pro worthy short bbers. but you can get huge at a 'tall' height say 6'0-3 if you have good genetics for building muscle. dont blame your height, blame your genetics.

hmmmm................i think your physically "built" for certain sports
basketball players require you to be tall (can you be good bb player and be short.......yes but it's much more difficult
kinna like can you be a great bodybuilder and be tall............yes but it's much more difficult)
jockey's have to be really short...etc etc
take 2 guys with identical genetics
one 5 ft 10 "
the other 6 ft 2"
train them the same,supplements,food etc
shorter guy would be much freaker/thicker/bigger
long limbed people have a much harder time trying to fill out all that space

Well my father has two brothers that are 6'1" and over and he is the only short one...Then he married a short woman (my mother) where everyone was short on her side...So I guess I was doomed by sperm & egg...LoL...It is is my genetic make-up to have a taller child though....Go figure...

Long limbed people do have a much harder time filling out..but once they do they often appear to be more impressive. Look at Franco compared to Arnold and so forth.

I have to agree with Mike on that one...Serges body is great but it's the big ugly mass body that is harder to get and to me is therefore much more appealing.

Don't think so. Any champion's physique is "hard" to get. If it was easy (being either Arnold or Ronnie) everyone would be doing it.

Guys like Peter Trenz, Boris Kleine, Thomas Stellander, Luke Wood et al, are dime a dozen.
Mass monsters like that are relatively common.
Physiques like Serge Nubret's... You simply don't find those today.
Rocco Jones is the guy who's the closest, but he's not on par with Serge yet.

1st off if i was drinking it would be beer...
2nd off, i'm not drinking...
3rdly, i may have misread this thread, but i'm not saying a big ugly mass body should win the Olympia or any other contest for that matter (unless well deserving), i'm just saying that i find big ugly mass bodies attractive to look at because i think (yes, just my thought) they are harder to come by.
4thly, this is all just an opinion.

It doesn't have to be a bodybuilder...my husband has a gut...i like him and the point of my original post was not that i like huge ugly mass bods with guts...i was just stating that i prefer HUGE UGLY MASS BODS...that's all.
