I have a buddy who works for the city. Dept./General Services. Basically...him and his crew rebuild and work on 'the projects'.
He tells me everytime they install new cabinets or new toilet or new flooring in their cribs...'they' tear it out and try pawning it on the streets. New stove, windows...it doesnt matter.
I'm afraid if we tricked out some 'jects' in Chicago...those fkn animals would rip out and ruin everything nice put in.
Even the 'statues of david' you would suggest to put in would be slung on the streets...as would the romanesque collesiums.

Yes. Especially when the handle is an inch and a half thick with no warm-up, and no wraps. And it wasn't lifted an inch off the ground - that's just the point at which the photo was taken. It went a bit higher than that.

Unfortunately that's the way most guys do their reps with dumbbells in the flats, incline, and shoulder presses. To them it's more important to grab the 100lbs than to grab the 75lbs and do real reps. They are a legend in their own mind. That's why I never believe the bs poundages of internet guys. I have been to enough gyms in my day to see what guys consider acceptable reps. I love watching guys leg pressing a million 45 plates only to see the back board super upright so the range of motion is nothing but a baby knee bend.
I think the Olympic people have it right using olympic lifts. There is no real way to cheat a clean and jerk. It's over your head or it isn't. You might get a no lift for such things as touching an elbow to a knee but give me a break it doesn't help your lift. Most 400lbs benchers can't clean 315lbs.

yes, but you're still moving from stretch to contraction, which is where the muscle stimulation happens. if adonis did the same rom as the short guys he'd get far less effect from it due to not doing making his joint move as many degrees.

strangely, though, the best lifters in the world are all taller and have longer limbs. it seems counterintuitive, but it's true. my guess is that maybe your upper arm is three inches longer than mine, but that means your upper arm has three inches more muscle tissue with which to generate the force in order to move the weight.

I think it's due more to the fact that they can carry a lot more weight and muscle on their frames. Getting to that level is the tough part, though.

i think that's exactly it. sure a 16" arm is bigger on someone short than someone tall, but a 6'3" guy has a much greater possibility of getting to a 23" arm and an arm that size that's also longer is going to be capable of a hell of a lot more force simply due to all the muscle there.

It's true some guys are tall that bench a lot but that doesn't change the fact they still have to cover a greater distance than short guys..Plus a guy that is 6'3 345 lbs should be able to put up more weight than a guy 5'6 200 lbs..In theory. Lot of variables in play tho like bone structure and genetics.

The problem is with TA is he is FULL of excuses. Rather than do something he has an excuse why he can't. He has showed pics of him deadlifting. Well since his arms are so long it makes deadlifitng allot easier, yet he only deads 600. Why is that. The funny thing is when someone brags as much as he does, they usually have soemthing to show for it and somethign to back it up, yet we have never seen anything. This claim of deading 225 for 200 reps or whatever stupid numbers is sheer fantasy. He has never done it before yet pulls those numbers out. I used to like TA cause of hsi entertainment value. I never believed he was serious. But, lately he isacting like he is serious and when called out he ignores or just hope it goes away. The problem is some of the young gys are believing his line of crap. He has no respect on here or other boards. NONE. All because he can't back up what he says. Ifhe was real hewould get his shit together and prove everyone wrong. He would be a king then. Till then he is just a Board Jester.

Dam I thought he was going to hit those with a deep stretch for a nice set of 12 or 15 (As his title says reppin with the 100s). I use 45kg dumbells (99lb) for military presses for 3 sets of between 7-4 reps FULL. But someone should post that Goggins clip where he does a set of 50 with the 100lb dumbells - now that was worth watching.

yup. there are basically two reasons to tape yourself lifting. one is if you want help with doing the lift right, the other is if you're doing something incredible. you sure as shit dont want to tape yourself bragging about shit reps on the bench with a weight the bigger guys can shoulder press.
