i don't know. i sure as hell can't bnp the combined weight of the dumbbells i can incline, but maybe my shoulders aren't as good as his.

Yeah the behind the neck with 3 bills is total bullshit. I'm bigger than this wanker and i might be able to get 225 behind the neck for one. And thats a strech. but the squat is not that difficult. 500... a grown ass man should be able to do 500. and using the 150s ummm. yeah thats all crap. takes a visibly big dude to lift those and homeboy isn't visibly big at all.

well i'll go with you over me, since i'm not up to them yet, especially that bnp. that's the part that really sticks out to me. i'm within spitting distance of the other two, but i'm waayyy off from getting 300 pounds over my head.
but the guy can do that hold, which is pretty impressive. people forget that part. it's like seeing someone to a plate pinch with a pair of 35s. is it that impressive to hold 70 pounds? hell no, but holding two plates smooth side out together with one hand is damn impressive. how far it's lifted is pretty irrelevant.

good weight magoo......but IMO stay away from "behind" the neck presses I alway do them to the front. when i use to do them behind the neck i was always in pain, but that's my experiance :-\

Every time I start doing behind the neck I end up pulling my trap or something a month after getting into them. Not worth it for me at least.

i try not to go heavy on them, nothing i can't get 10 reps with. anything over that and i start to ache. which is why it also boggles me that he'd know his max on them, unless that's an estimate based on getting a bunch of reps with a lower weight.

i usually alternate between that and dumbbells or standing push presses. dumbbells and push presses when i feel like going heavy, behind the neck just to shake things up because they really do get you in a different way.

yeah I've been doing them standing for a while now cause my new gym's press is arched too much to the front.......I think standing overhead presses separates the man from the boys :-\

yes they do. especially when you nearly fall backwards because you used a little too much leg drive and weren't paying attention to keeping things in a nice straight line. :-X

If I am right (and I usually am ;D) that handles is not only thicker than a regular handle but it rotates also. I can't remember what that is called (thunder something) but I had one at my show and offered $1,000 to anyone who could lift 200lbs. No one did it (if I remember right)

In fact, since i am in Vegas, i'll put a hundred out there for this clown to post up a vid of him taking the 150's off the rack, walking to the flat bench, sitting down with them, standing back up and racking them! He don't even need to press them!

Tell you what, I'm feeling generous tonight so I'll let you in on a little secret (promise not to tell?)
I live in Birmingham, England (as you may already know), and from Sept 96 to approx Aug '05 I trained in Temple Gym, yes, that's right, Dorian's place.
Mr Yates happens to have two very special dumbells in his gym, which weigh 220lbs each. Anyone who has ever trained there in the last few years will tell you that. Now, I can get them off the floor to do shrugs so why do people seem to have a problem believing my lifts? If I can do the 220s for shrugs then I can damn well do 150lbs flat dumbell presses. The most I've ever done is 7 reps. The first four with ease. The rest with a spotter. I haven't lied about a thing. Nothing.
I'm getting tired of people asking for video evidence but I don't feel the need. I don't have to prove anything to anybody. I've already posted one pic, that should be enough. Which is one more that Squadfather ever has. What about you Superstar? You say your pic is over three years old - post a more recent one - mine was. It was taken just over a year ago.

Yep, you are right. It's called Rolling Thunder and it's hard as hell to lift. The current world record is 274 lbs. Here are the rules:
Rolling ThunderŽ Contest Rules
1) An authentic IronMindŽ Rolling ThunderŽ handle must be used, it cannot have been modified in any way, and it must be inspected to ensure that it revolves freely. The lift starts with the weight in between the lifter's feet. In the world championships (and the U.S. nationals), the 15" loading pin and large carabiner that IronMind¨ sells are used (this standardizes the lifting height). Any other loading pin and carabiner with the same dimensions could be used.
2) The lifter grabs the Rolling Thunder handle in approximately its center and lifts with the handle remaining approximately parallel to the ground. A thumbless grip is not permitted.
3) Any contact between the lifter's hand and the non-revolving portion of the handle disqualifies the lift.
4) The lifter must fully straighten up; once standing straight, the lifter gets a down signal from the referee, and must then return the weight to the ground. Contact must be maintained between the lifter's hand and the handle until the weight is resting on the floor. The referee then indicates whether the lift was passed or not.
5) In contest situations, we give the lifter one minute to complete the lift after his/her name is called; during that minute, there is no limit to how many times the lifter may try to complete the lift.
6) Ordinary chalk may be used on the lifter's hand, but nothing else is permitted (tacky, for example, is specifically disallowed).
