I think I can point you to one person that can answer that question.

Sometimes I think half the people here would slit their wrists from guilt if they ever drank even a single beer at some point in their lives. Live a little, people.

fucking pussies!

Its still better than those that don't look at labels and shove chocolate chip cookies one after another down their already double chinned face.

I agree. I also agree with Squadfather. I live in the middle of these two extremes.

Strange, wasn't this YOUR post earlier today? - "it has 8 grams of protein and 20 grams of carbs per 8 ounces, so drink a mere 24 ounces and you've got yourself 25 grams of high quality protein and 60 grams of simple carbs."
Sounds like you pay attention to nutritional info to me. And if you're going to go on a nutritional board and make an claim that egg nog is an effective post work out food, expect someone to actually take a look at whether there is a nutritionally-sound basis for your claim. I wasn't the only one that thought your post was less than convincing.

I can understand if your getting ready for a show, but not year round that just plain sucks...

I don't go nuts over labels, but it's nice to know how much sodium or saturated fat is in something you eat. That is if you care what you look like. One of the best laws the FDA ever had. Takes the guesswork out of trying to eat clean. Not every little gram of whatever, who cares but when something has 4000 mils of sodium, that's more than you should eat in a day when trying to eat healthy.

I don't know him. I disagreed with one post. Big deal.

You are constantly wrong. You are the biggest supplement industry guy here and a huge reason why those companies get rich selling crap.

Yeah, I'm horrible because I take a multi-vitamin. I got it. You might benefit from Prozac if that doesn't violate your "whole foods" religion.
By the way, it takes alot of guts to show your face after Loco handed you your ass for all to see on the Nutrition Board.

Let's summarize, you were defending a nutritional expert who was exposed as a fraud on "quackwatch" while Loco was pointing to research by a Nobel Prize winner.
Good job!

Maybe you should learn to read as I never defended any nutritional guru in that thread.

Here is Locos’ post to you “xpac2" in response to your sarcastic “cool I get it now”
“You get what exactly?
Judith DeCarva, the woman who says "do NOT take vitamin supplements" is a fraud.
Linus Pauling, the man who says "Do take lots of cheap vitamin C pills throughout the day for better health" is a well known American quantum chemist and biochemist, and the only person to win two unshared Nobel prizes. The man lived 93 years.”
So while I agree that your lame sarcasm is barely a defense of the quack, it certainly reads as one nevertheless and Loco took your comment as did I.
Now go take that Prozac . . .

guy, I love that! Better than polesmoker.

How many times do you have to look at the nutritional label of steak and rice before you remember what's in it?
I don't think you're talking about bodybuilders.
I think you're talking about "club pumpers" who want to know how much fat is in their lean cuisine today.

You make a great point there Squad, but ya know some people have nothing better to do with their time. They enjoy making a hurricane in a soup bowl (or would that be shaker cup?). Unless you're a couple of weeks out from a national level or pro show, who cares what's in the egg nog. Just drink a cup if you want to. Most of us that are past the beginner stage know what's up anyway, and don't have to read everything for content...

i think women these days are obsessing about food labels and calorie counts more than bbers...
dunno, I get in the store I know, that pasta has more carbs than brown rice and chicken has less fat than beef (generally) - good enough info to make a sound choice, imo

Magoo, looks like your days are numbered here.

yes Goddess, "MidniteRambo" is still in beginners stage hahahhaha

Or you could figure out the micronutrients once and then eat the same damn thing every day. Works for me.

I agree with what you're saying. The problem is, you have to look at his post that started all this on the nutrition board. He didn't just say, I like egg nog, or egg nog is fun to drink, whatever (all of which is true, and BTW, my follow up post suggested adding a shot of rum). He did claim it was an effective post work out option. For that reason, I discussed the nutritional information as well as the fact that it was sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, which is not an effective insulin spiker.
Then, instead of addressing the issue he himself raised, he came to this board and took it out of context- conveniently omitting, as I previously noted, and others have since recognized, that his original post discussed grams of carbs, protein, fat, etc.

I'm a strict Vegetarian (mostly vegan, except for my eggs & yogurt) and I'm constantly looking at food labels to make sure there's no animal ingredients in some of the stuff I get. I feel really self conscious cause some people are probably looking at me going "There's another tard fitness freak checking his calorie count" but I'm just checking the ingredients. I agree though, when I first started working out 7 years ago, one day I was saying goodbye to the gym staff and said I was going to have lunch. One of them asked me what I was having and I said a kebab and they replied "Wow, you'd better watch those carbs" ::). Some people are so paranoid it's pathetic.
SERGIO!!!!

Okay Midnite, I agree with you on the shot of rum, didn't mean to step on toes. I did not see the other post. If you're off season I suggest 2 shots of rum per glass...If you're dieting for a show just sniff Rambo's...nuff said...
