  • Its only hard if you make it hard.
checking out the nutritional info labels on all their foods and obsessing over every little gram of protein? there was just a jackass on the Nutrition board who actually researched the calorie info on Egg Nog after i started a thread about it for fcuks sake, how gay can you be?

i think women these days are obsessing about food labels and calorie counts more than bbers...
dunno, I get in the store I know, that pasta has more carbs than brown rice and chicken has less fat than beef (generally) - good enough info to make a sound choice, imo

Most of us that are past the beginner stage know what's up anyway, and don't have to read everything for content...

Or you could figure out the micronutrients once and then eat the same damn thing every day.  Works for me.

You make a great point there Squad, but ya  know some people have nothing better to do with their time. They enjoy making a hurricane in a soup bowl (or would that be shaker cup?). Unless you're a couple of weeks out from a national level or pro show, who cares what's in the egg nog. Just drink a cup if you want to. Most of us that are past the beginner stage know what's up anyway, and don't have to read everything for content...

I agree with what you're saying.  The problem is, you have to look at his post that started all this on the nutrition board.  He didn't just say, I like egg nog, or egg nog is fun to drink, whatever (all of which is true, and BTW, my follow up post suggested adding a shot of rum).  He did claim it was an effective post work out option.  For that reason, I discussed the nutritional information as well as the fact that it was sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, which is not an effective insulin spiker.

Then, instead of addressing the issue he himself raised, he came to this board and took it out of context- conveniently omitting, as I previously noted, and others have since recognized, that his original post discussed grams of carbs, protein, fat, etc.

Sometimes I think half the people here would slit their wrists from guilt if they ever drank even a single beer at some point in their lives.  Live a little, people.

Tis the season.

I'm a strict Vegetarian (mostly vegan, except for my eggs & yogurt) and I'm constantly looking at food labels to make sure there's no animal ingredients in some of the stuff I get. I feel really self conscious cause some people are probably looking at me going "There's another tard fitness freak checking his calorie count" but I'm just checking the ingredients. I agree though, when I first started working out 7 years ago, one day I was saying goodbye to the gym staff and said I was going to have lunch. One of them asked me what I was having and I said a kebab and they replied "Wow, you'd better watch those carbs" ::). Some people are so paranoid it's pathetic.

Okay Midnite, I agree with you on the shot of rum, didn't mean to step on toes. I did not see the other post. If you're off season I suggest 2 shots of rum per glass...If you're dieting for a show just sniff Rambo's...nuff said...
