Post by: Stavios on January 09, 2007, 03:03:47 PM
I tried it for my legs workout last wedsday and I am still sore !

what do you tiny tits thinks think about it ? did you made good gains while training that way ?

the only thing I hate about is that he uses mostly machines on everything but for the legs it worked pretty good

Was an extreme case of 'muscle dysmorphia'.

Trevor always said even at over 350lbs and squatting more than 600 and bench pressing more than 500 he still "felt" and looked upon himself as "small".

he very well may have been small compared to most national and ifbb competitors, no one ever saw him dieted down and he was pretty soft when i saw him in pictures and at the O expo.  dieting effectively takes trial and error, its not a first shot kinda deal as you probably know

he had some great ideas and yes i do think his training style works.

he was a huge man. i know someone on here stated that he probably wouldn't be compared to a pro or national comp. if he dieted down. but even if he was 20%bf he would have been 270lb or so on stage. thats big if you ask me

He had the best protein i ever had. I made great gains with it . You could have a 100 grams and it still was only as thick as lemonaid. His ex wife Nancy told me he was going to market it again in the near future.

TREVOR L. SMITH: PERSONAL BIO:

In September of 1998, Trevor Smith relocated to Venice, CA from New York, where he taught Goshin Budo Juiu-Jitsu for the last 6 years (currently he holds the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt or Yo-Dan) to pursue his childhood dream of bodybuilding.

Until August of 1999, Trevor trained as a totally natural bodybuilder reaching over 300LBS at 6'1" in height. Trevor decided to maximize his potential by applying his years of research and education (Trevor graduated from Rutgers University in 1992 with a degree in Sports Management, minor in Archaeology/Anthropology and secondary field concentration in Science) to the use of performance enhancing compounds and increasing muscle mass which resulted in his current weight fluctuating between 400-420LBS. Trevor plans on dieting down for his foray into competitive bodybuilding, where he hopes to shock the sport by competing at new levels of muscle size and density that were previously thought impossible to achieve.

His practical knowledge of pharmaceuticals combined with the experience he has had working with over 500 individuals, including well known Professional Bodybuilders and athletes, enables him to take just about anyone and guarantee that he can put an additional 20LBS of muscle on them. In the fall of 1999, Trevor founded Nuclear Nutrition, a company dedicated to exclusively servicing the needs of the hard-core bodybuilder and strength athlete.

Nuclear Nutrition's mission is simple: To supply cutting edge supplements manufactured from the finest nutrients, vitamins and flavors without a concern for cost. Nuclear Nutrition will always produce the highest quality and most potent nutritional products available without making our customers pay extra for it. Nuclear Nutrition is not solely concerned with profit margins...It is concerned about filling the needs of peoplewho want to supply their bodies with the highest and purest form of nutrients available. Nuclear Nutrition designs its products to tailor-fit these. Products for people who want to develop and increase muscle mass and reduce body fat to maximize their potential in the shortest time period possible.

Trevor's goal with Nuclear Nutrition is simply based on his belief that if a person is interested they can be taught everything that they want to know and can do it in a very short time. He believes that educating people and bodybuilders on training, diet/supplementation and even muscle enhancing pharmaceuticals will go a long way to change the sport and keep people healthy and safe. Trevor plans on "Contaminating" the bodybuilding world via Nuclear Nutrition's products, magazines, training videos and seminars so that people will no longer achieve their goals via trial and error, injuries, mistakes and health risks, but rather with a smart, simplistic and safe approach that will propel them to levels never thought possible before

Most of his articles I posted over at http://www.chadnicholls.net/forums/showthread.php?p=816536#post816536

Was the cause of Trevor's death ever determined?  :-\

I had heard the final verdict was a prescription drug OD combined with/caused by severe depression.

I hung out with Trevor a few times. He seemed like an okay guy but he was a total bullshitter. First of all, he was nowhere near 400 lbs. He looked to be closer to 300. Second, his supplements, like all others, were the same garbage manufactured in the same 3 factories that produce the same crap for every other supp company -- if protein powder dissolves well in water it's just cheap and diluted product. Third, despite never having competed, he acted like he could put 20lbs of muscle on Olympia-level competitors in 6 weeks if they would just trust him. Fourth, there's no record of him working with any world class athletes in any sport. Fifth, he was carrying about 30%BF. Sixth, we're talking about a grossly overweight drug abuser who dropped dead before he reached 40 -- we're supposed to believe he was some kind of nutritional genius who didn't have the knowledge or discipline to lower his drug use or weight to healthy levels? His website was funny but was so poorly designed and conceived that it appeared they were conducting business out of a cardboard box.

He was also working with DeMayo on a comeback shortly before Paul's demise.

Other than that, he was a cool cat.

I would love to try some of his concepts out in the future.  His stuff is fun to read.

Another program where you need a partner. Bah! Well, I do like the idea of painful training, aslong as it's the right kind of pain. I think intensity and pushing your limits are important.

TREVEOR speaks alot in his writings about working with Robby Robinson and there are pics of robby taken by trevor while robby was getting ready for one of the masters olympia's.  So, he did work with a "world class" athelete, he also worked alot with Ian Harrison, Demayo and Matt Duval if I remember correctly, I might be wrong about harrison but i know for a fact he worked wiht Duval and Demayo...in fact I heard some pretty shitty stuff about Demayo from his time working with Trevor.

And if we give him the benefit of the doubt, and he did work with Robinson, Demayo, Duvall......what fantastic results they acheived!

Oh, and by the way, I have informal pictures of myself in the gym and outside the gym with everyone from Arnold on down....it doesnt mean I "train" them.

As a side note, most of these gurus,,,,chad, hany, glass, and on and on....trainer is code name for "DEALER"...the pros attitude is "as long as the supply is uninterrupted, these guys can say what they want"

There are pics of him on the link I put up in my earlier posts. He also worked with Jay cutler for a short time. Him and Ian Harrison were good friends and trained similar. Both cycled there AAS 6weeks on, 3-4 weeks off and then repeat. I also beleive this is the way Dorian did it as well. As far as Robby Robinson is concerned, he did work with him. That being said I wouldn't really listen to anything he said since he seems pretty bitter in his old age. Are far as Trevors bf% goes, it depends on when you seen him. From pictures you can tell it fluctuated. BFT can be done without a partner and the writeup he did of it is very basic. The amount of forced reps should only be 2-4. He wrote later that the reason why he said 6-8 was to make up for bad spotters and people who didnt train to failure correctly. Also his BFT DVD will be released in the future. I don't nkow when, I just know it will be released. Hope that clears up some stuff. Anymore questions I will do my best to answer.

I met him and hung out with a few times as well and actually knew a few people that knew his real deal. Everything you said is exactly what i was told and then some. Shit he was perc'd/oc'd out of his mind at one arnold classic, along with demayo. He was large but also VERY fat.  HE actually reminds me of dante LOL

there is no way he was 35%  bf....he was bloated like a toad but not THAT fat.  the guy was an extremely strong guy adding weight to every machine so he had alot of muscle. i give credit where it is do and i say the dude was big..no matter what you thought about him as a person.

he even had some machines custom made for him if i remember right.

who's releasing the DVD?  I'm not saying your lying but the way I hear it is his wife-or ex wife cause i think she left him-owns the rights to all the BFT and nuclear nutrition stuff and she has no intention of doing anything with it.  Again this is what I think I heard, I didn' pay a whole lot of attention to it at the time.

i swear i have read somewhere in one of his articles that he claimed to have got to 420lbs. Now bearing in mind that ronnie coleman is probably the most muscular human being to ever walk the earth (steroid induced obviously), and i think ronnies highest off season weight ever is reportedly about 330.  Now for this guy to be almost 100lbs heavier than that, i aint saying he didnt have alot of muscle but he must also have had a fu cking shi t load of fat on him aswell.
On a side note, this years world strongest man has recently been played in the uk, there was a canadian guy called dominic filou who was 440lbs at about 6'4. He was obviously big and muscular, but he was fu cking fat as hell !! This is what i imagine trevor to have been like, which is why he probably always kept himself covered up. Just my 2cnts

Here is the article if of interest, he claimes he could get well over 420lbs at 6'1.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/trevorsmith.htm

"So the only thing I will give you in terms of my "stats" is my height and weight. I am 6 foot and a bit over a half inch... so I give myself the other nearly half inch and say that my height is 6 feet 1 inch. During the peak of my last course, while I was shooting my video, I was 412 lbs. One day I was really hungry and ate like 50 pieces of sushi at my favorite sushi place and after that night and the 2 gallons of Gatorade I consumed (no bullshit, just ask my wife... my appetite for solid food is very small most of the time, but in terms of liquids I am like a camel), between the hours of 10:00pm and 4:00am my weight the next morning was around 420 lbs. from all the water retention that I got from eating gobs and gobs of sushi and the Gatorade. But for the most part, I stayed at 412 lbs. for the video. If I make a concerted effort to stuff my face with carbs (in my opinion, sushi is the best source for this along with a packet of M.R.P. Factor 3 mixed with Gatorade), I can go over 420 lbs. easily. "

He was probably leaner than filou though. When i watched filou I could see he had some man boobs under his clothes. Now I look at the picture of trevor shaking hands with coleman, that pic is from the 2003 USA's were he was 405lbs and  that shirt is pretty tight and I dont see any man boobs.

BEYOND FAILURE TRAINING VIDEO. to view pics go to http://www.chadnicholls.net/forums/showthread.php?t=39691&page=11&pp=20

The Beyond Failure Training Video was shot during one week of Trevor's last mass training cycle in April , 2003. All lifts are well documented and refernced as 100% legit. The video and testimonials of those present will be proof of the legitimate weights, size and strength.

Trevor's bodyweight in the pics and in the video was around 410lbs....somedays more...somedays less. Hopefully these pictures will inspire many to train to their maximal levels and learn that the most powerful muscle in "Beyond Failure Training TM" is the mind.

It is important to understand that Trevor does not train for the purposes of being a strong man or a powerlifter....he respects both of these type of athletes tremendously and in return garners tremendous amounts of respect from many world record holding Powerlifters, Bench Press specialist and Squat specialists. Through his years of dedication to the "Iron" and the "Martial Arts," he has been able to excel in strength and size and feels pleased to share that knowledge as well as his own accomplishment proving his training theories and years of efforts to create them. He has been fortunate to have been recognized and hired by top professional athletes and top professional bodybuilders including top Mr. Olympia Contender Jay Cutler whom aside from being a personal friend of Trevor's, Trevor is very honored and excited to be of assistance to and take an already amazing and freakish physique and make it even better. To have someone of Jay Cutler's stature and accomplish acknowledge Trevor's accomplishments and training intensity and knowledge in the field of bodybuilding and, in particular, adding muscle mass means a great deal to Trevor. Jay Cutler has trained under Trevor in the Beyond Failure Training Center and has experienced first hand the power and intensity of Trevor's training system and knowledge and it is Trevor's hope that his knowledge combined with Jay's own will be of tremendous help in securing the title of Mr. Olympia, a title that many feel was rightfully his in 2001.

Trevor firmly believes that through his many, many unique techniques that he uses in the ever evolving system he created called, "Beyond Failure Training TM," he will continue to gain tremendous strength along with tremendous size. Regardless of the incredible poundage that he routinely lifts, Trevor does not train for MAX lifts as all his pressing movements are done AFTER EXTREMELY HEAVY AND EXTREMELY EXTENSIVE PRE-EXHAUST WITH ISOLATION MOVEMENTS which is a cornerstone of his training system.

Trevor also has come to an understanding that there are many non-believers and lots of negative comments and gossip that the weights he uses are fake, that his bodyfat is 30%, that since he has not yet competed in bodybuilding his size and strength are somehow irrelevant, that his pictures are graphically enhanced, or that he wears shoulder pads etc. He further understands the nature of the internet and the ease of its anonimity to dispute, discredit and insult. This is inevitable when you put yourself out there and exposure yourself so one must take the good with the bad. Regardless of those comments, there are many that use the photos and information of Trevor's writings, knowledge about his training system, "Beyond Failure Training TM," mass theories, and philosphies (including many well accomplished and well established professional athletes) to enhance their own training and lives. It is for those people that look, read and become more informed that this is for.

Chest Day....Pre-Exhaust set with the "Flex 30 Degree Pec Contractor" at 500lbs. (since the machine is designed normally to hold a 200lbs. stack and Trevor's machine was customized with a 300lbs stack....the people at Flex Equipment would probably not be too warranty friendly seeing the extra 45lbs. plates and the dumbbells added to the stack

Trevor getting some "Extreme Forced Reps TM" after hitting failure with the 500lbs....of course, the video shows the entire set complete with all the drop sets and "Extreme Forced RepsTM"

After pre-exhausting the pecs....it was on to incline bench presses on the Smith Machine with a starting weight of 765lbs. and continuing with drop sets and very unique style, "Zero Momentum RepsTM" called "EXTREME ZERO MOMENTUM REPS TM"...a technique that Trevor has not written about or shown to many people.

Shoulders: Pre-Exhausting with a triple drop set of seated laterals.....starting weight: 150lbs. Dumbbells...Again, the video will have the complete set and the unique style these are done in to completely isolate and pre-exhaust the lateral delt.

Then on to Front Shoulder Presses on the "Smith Machine"...Starting weight: 675lbs.....and once again adding never before seen techniques to increase difficulty and intensity...This Video Is, Without Question, The Most Intense Training Video EVER Filmed...

After Shoulder Presses...it was on to Triceps training.....Starting with Close Grip Bench Presses With 585lbs. to start and ending in a whole lot of pain and an inability to lift the arms after the multiple strip/drop sets and forced reps...note the unwrapped thumb technique used throughout all Trevor's pressing movements.....subtle changes like this can dramatically increase the intensity of a set..WARNING : DO NOT ATTEMPT WITHOUT COMPETENT AND ADEQUATE SPOTTERS AND ALWAYS START WITH A LIGHT WEIGHT SO YOU CAN GET USED TO THE TECHNIQUE.
After Pre-Exhausting On The "Nautilus Plate Loaded Pullover" (sorry guys....didn't get those pics) Trevor moves on to a Power Set on the Nebula Heavy Duty Low Row Machine (Eleven 45lbs. Plates Per Side)....(due to its floating arms/handles....this incredible machine is much more difficult than a standard "Hammer" Low Row Machine and thus completely tortures the back from multiple angles.
Trevor in mid rep on what he calls the "Most Intense Piece Of Back Equipment Ever Developed."....It is an "Iso Mid Row Machine" made by "Nebula".....although you cannot see it clearly in this picture....it has two floating arms that move outward and inward as you pull back and the handles rotate 360 degrees......the amount of stress this puts on the lats is amazing.....it is a very, very, very hard machine and way more difficult that even free weights or dumbbell rows due to its unique design. Although it is loaded with Six 45lbs. plates..... according to Trevor this is like using the" Hammer" DY row with Twelve 45lbs. plates per side (which is impossible to load on to the "Hammer" DY machine) yet even that cannot compare if it were possible due to the "Floating" nature of the arms on this machine and the fact that your wrists rotate throughout the movement....thus making it a very DYNAMIC movement which is much harder than a standard plate loaded back machine which are mostly STATIC in their movements. Hats off to" Nebula" on this back/lat torture device as Trevor's face is worth a thousand words.

After an extremely intense pre-exhaust set of leg extensions with unique variants of Z.M.R.'s that yielded tremendous amounts of blowtorch burning pain to the quads..
Trevor mentally readies himself for a set starting with nearly 2,500lbs. on his customized Pendulum Power Squat Machine. A custom built machine made with 1:1 ratio to mimic almost identically the feeling of a standard free bar squat.

This shot was taken literally 2 seconds before Trevor puked into his gym bag

i swear i have read somewhere in one of his articles that he claimed to have got to 420lbs.
Just my 2cnts

actually according md marcus ruhl has been in the 340's with abs showing.

No I didn't know him personally, but the person I talked to who was VERY close to Trevor and wants to stay anonymous for right now told me it was a heart attack.

Natural Al- All I can say is the DVD will eventually be released. You will just have to take my word for it.  I'm not making this up. Why would I?

no..you got it wrong, I wasn't saying it like that.  I wasn't t;rying to be a dick, I just heard different things than you did.

I know he worked on a dvd but I just heard a different story than you did...nothing more nothing less.  I hope it comes out, I'd probably buy it.

this really is an awsome thread, there's a few interviews with Lee Priest and one with Paul Demayo that are pretty good reads.  Sounds like trevor and Lee were buddies so I wonder if Lee would comment on this thread.

Really, if you take the time to read it there is some very good information to be found, I don't know about how true the weights used are-I'd love to see the video but the training sounds pretty brutal from what is written here.

He seems like a smart guy, big heart and brains. However, he died and he died by his own doing. It is hard to take seriously everything he writes when you know that he will eventually hurt himself. I  hope he rest in peace but I think he should have listened to his own advice, especially about cycles.

The spotter can't help much. But between the spotter, the wraps, and his pushing off of his knees, he's got a big advantage. Still rather impressive for one leg, I guess.

If I may offer my 2 cents and some clarification here.

a)Trevor was monstrous. I stood next to Trevor at the expo in Vegas at the USA's and I was 303lbs at 6'1", Trevor was an inch taller than me but easily had another 50-60lbs on me.  He had some bodyfat on him but make no doubt about it, he was a massive individual and would of been incredibley impressive dieted down. He had alot of muscle mass on him.

b)For many years now I feel like I should of said/done more at the end. Trevor had emailed me some days before he died....it really took a huge toll on him, the relationship woe's coupled with a resounding sickening fact that people online dont stop for a second to think about. There were alot of people who bashed Trevor relentlessly, some people who are still here to this day on this very board, who took great joy in making that guy feel like total absolute shit. Alot of it was really brutal.
He took that stuff to heart ... we had talked about it many times....the stuff said hurt him. All what you guys saw was a 360 pound individual who you thought it was cool to make fun of....well that guy was a human being inside.
He could not understand why when he was just trying to help people with a mindset and a methodology, that people could say things that cut to the bone. I know you guys think "oh its only a freaking message board, who the f**k cares"....well thats fine and dandy when you hide behind a screen name 24/7 and noone knows who the hell you are.....your hidden, you just click the off button and your right back to your anomynous life.....its another thing when your pics and full name are out there and people are saying "that fat f**k doesnt deserve his hot wife, what does she see in that fucking obese MF" and so on and so on..............Trevor read it all, every bit of it, he just never posted in reaction............so Trevor and I talked thru this in emails back and forth at the end and I thought I left him on a pretty good note as he said something to the effect "thanks dante, I really appreciate those words, its been really tough on me of late"
Obviously I didnt say enough (Im pretty sure I know how Trevor died, and some of you guys on this thread who knew him do to....Im not privy to say though...as there is some legal jargon to run thru in all this)

c)Ill tell you what.... give me the choice of having Trevor as a friend versus 99% of people on these boards who will backstab you and screw you over at the drop of a hat to better themselves.....Id take Trevor in a heartbeat. He was loyal and he had honor, something you dont see in this sport much.....just look at the deviousness of this board....could you honestly trust the people on this board that are around you with the gimmick accounts and the backstabbing. What you see is what you got with Trevor...I dont care what these other people on this thread say. He was a good man in my book.  If I remember right he asked me to write something for his mag he was putting out back in the day, I asked him to see a copy.....he sends me a copy and 4 jugs of free protein with a note ("on the house Dante, your a good guy")

and he was too

DC, I almost thought about asking you if you knew Trevor, his writing style reminds me alot of yours for some reason and it seems like he thought out of the box alot which I also think you do.

Anyway, the thread that someone posted earlier and then I reposted it is really pretty f'n awsome, I'm reading every word of it...lots of great, great information on there.  I just finished the first page and I honestly haven't read a better thread in a loooooong time.  Good interview with Lee Priest on there.  I'd encourage everyone to read it...not cause I'm a trevor smith slappy..I didn't even know who he was until a few months ago but because he wrote some really amazing articles and was pretty brutally honest in what he wrote, he doesn't back down from any subject..it really is a great read.

Didn't know you knew him well. I'v heard many things on how he died. One being due to a synthol injection. The reason I said it was a hart attack is because the person who told me, who had been REALLY close with him for many years told me that.

Most people think this guy is full of shit. This guys name is Larry Maples. Can anyone that knew Trevor comment on this? Is it even legal for him to use the Beyond Failure name?

Hey Chris2489, did you hear back from the person you e-mailed about this guy using the Beyond Failure name and taking credit for helping create the system? I just found out the guy is now trying to start BFT centers across the country. Maybe I'm wrong, and the guy has permission to do this, but he seems like a con- man to me and everyone else around here.

you should try trackind down Ian Harrison or maybe Trevor's wife.  I know in his writings whenevere trevor mentions BFT training or any of his techniques he puts a "TM" on them so they are trademarked.

you know this thread really got me thinking..if it is (and i believe it is) true that trevor had such a hard time with the messages boards then i say shame on those who aimlessly blast people on here for no good reason. sometimes the bashing gets out of hand
